The invention relates to a device for facilitating the ironing of tubular elements on garments, in particular sleeves of shirts and blouses.

Ironing the sleeves of shirts or blouses is often very complicated, as there are at least two pieces of fabric lying on top of each other. Without additional equipment or experienced and complex working methods, wrinkles are often ironed into the lower, invisible side of the sleeve.

From the state of the art, sleeve ironing boards in a wide variety of designs are widely known for these activities. These sleeve ironing boards are often placed loosely on the ironing board, in other cases they can already be permanently or movably integrated into the ironing board. Examples of such sleeve ironing boards can be found in the documents DE 19805952 A1 Pivoting sleeve ironing board arrangement, DE 2910288 Sleeve ironing board, or the document DE 9106178 Collapsible sleeve ironing board.

These popular sleeve ironing boards have the disadvantage that the sleeve to be ironed is difficult to pull onto the board and only part of the sleeve can be ironed at a time. This means that the sleeve has to be moved and pulled tight several times, and the iron has to be turned off during each of these preparations. Ironing with such sleeve ironing boards is therefore difficult and time-consuming, although error-free ironing cannot be ruled out.

In the documents DE-Gbm 9112167 and DE-Gbm 299 17648, special bending wire devices or fiberglass rod ironing aids are disclosed, which already react to the fabric tension

of the sleeve to avoid creasing. Both documents refer to the wire or fiberglass rods bent into a U-shape with sufficient spring tension, which are inserted into the sleeve from the open side of the shirt for use.

The disadvantage of these methods is that the wires can only be pushed into the sleeve from the open side of the shirt. This makes ironing items of clothing without a continuous front opening (pullovers, sweatshirts) very difficult or almost impossible. In addition, the predetermined bending radius of the wire or fiberglass rod results in disadvantages when tensioning the sleeve along its entire length, as the radius and its opening angle can only be adapted to an ideal sleeve cut. Depending on the size of the bending radius or its opening angle, the tension is only applied at the end or the beginning of the sleeve. If, on the other hand, you want to iron sleeves of smaller clothing sizes, there is even a risk that seams or fabrics will be damaged by the excessive bending radius and the resulting tension. If sleeves with uneven seams are used, the devices described will fail completely.

Documents DE 10064 320 A1 and DE 2954086 C2 describe devices that are usually used in the clothing industry. In these processes, the garment is dried and ironed using steam or air in ironing dummies and inflatable bags. Document DE 197 23686 A1 also refers to the industrial application of ironing garments, particularly sleeves, using adjustable elements and ironing plates. These processes represent a variety of industrial applications that can neither be used individually nor are easy to operate without considerable hassle.

The simple handling, especially for domestic use, should be possible without special additional devices, air flow units, complex components or additional power supply. The invention therefore has the task of developing such a device that no longer has the described disadvantages or at least reduces them.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by a device for assisting in ironing sleeves, which is operated with one hand and without any additional power supply, in that the user inserts a narrow, long tube into the narrow side of the sleeve and, by carefully operating a small lever on the handle, a rope or a Bowden cable

operated and thereby erects a stable wire at the end of the tube, at the end of which a heat-resistant, elastic band is attached that ends at the handle, which is now tensioned by the erecting of the wire, thus achieving sufficient tension to stretch the sleeve along the seam, with the end of the elastic band ending in a slider that can be adjusted to the opening width of the sleeve outlet. The handle also contains another button that is operated to release the tension generated by the device.

According to a preferred embodiment, the adjustable tension of the wire is provided by a rope pulley with gear mechanism and locking function, which contains a spiral spring inside. When the lever is operated, a small arm pushes a gear a few tooth positions further at a time. A lock that is pressed against the gear with spring pressure prevents the wheel from turning back. The rope pulley is quickly rolled up by repeatedly operating the lever. A return spring on the lever facilitates this process. Only when the lock is released is the gear released and the rope pulley relaxes again.

The entire device should be easy for the user to handle and therefore must be lightweight, although the stability of the entire device is a priority. Preferred materials could be aluminum and plastics, which can adequately withstand the requirements of stability and heat effects.

Claims (9)

1. Device for ironing tubular elements on garments, in particular sleeves of shirts and blouses, by means of a long tube, at one end of which there is a handle with a movable lever which is actuated to raise a flexible wire rod at the other end, at the end of which there is an elastic band which tightens and thereby powerfully tensions the sleeve along the seam, wherein the elastic band is also slidably mounted in its position in the sleeve outlet in order to adapt it to the size of the sleeve opening. 2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the tension of the flexible wire bracket can be adjusted via a winding mechanism. 3. Device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the flexible wire bracket consists of spring steel and is slightly bent at the end. 4. Device according to claim 2, characterized in that the winding mechanism is provided with a lock which can be actuated to release the pre-tension. 5. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the lever and lock are mounted so that they can be easily operated with one hand, and that the device can lie flat on the ironing board in the tensioned state and can also be turned over at any time without the tension dropping or relaxing automatically. 6.
