Description

The innovation is aimed at a seating and reclining furniture with an adjustable function, which can be used as a sofa, guest bed and as a TV or reading lounger.

In the furniture known to date, which allows a flat and an angled lying position, the adjustment of the sitting or lying position is always achieved by complicated mechanisms that either have to be moved with the help of motors, or the user has to perform unpleasant locking and unlocking movements to adjust the position and usually also has to stand up.

The innovation is therefore based on the task of enabling the user to adjust the position from a flat to an angled lying position as comfortably and easily as possible, without the use of complex mechanisms with electric motors or the need to get up to adjust the position.

This is achieved with the innovative seat-reclining furniture with adjustment function, where, as described in the following text, you can achieve the desired lying or sitting position with a simple, ergonomically flowing movement.

The innovation lies on the one hand in the arrangement of the movable elements in relation to the static frame and on the other hand in the positioning of the joints between the movable elements in conjunction with a simple sliding edge on the static frame, which together enable the simple and ergonomic adjustment movement in which the movable element in the lying area of the upper body pivots with the inner part downwards and the outer part upwards, thus achieving the desired inclination, whereby the sliding edge on the static frame can be designed either as a simple rounded edge or as a rotating roller, etc. The flat, horizontal position of the seat or lying surface offers the possibility of using it as a flat lounger and as a guest bed, and with additional back cushions as a sofa (sitting position on the transverse side). When the seat or lying surface is angled, the furniture can be used as a reading or TV lounger.

In the previously known furniture, where the various lying positions can be adjusted directly while lying down, the movable elements are arranged in a surrounding frame, which usually limits the use to the bed area. In order to enable all usage variants in the living area without restrictions, the new design has the movable elements arranged in such a way that they can be partially swiveled into the static frame without the need for a surrounding frame to hinder them. The ergonomic positioning of the joint points analogous to the knee and hip joints and a simple sliding edge detail in the lying area of the upper body make it possible to change the lying position by slightly tensing the body and shifting the center of gravity. According to the new design, the movement is possible without additional help from motors or strong spring forces. A supporting lifting aid can be used to increase comfort, although this can be achieved with significantly less effort than with previously known solutions. The movable part is held in the horizontal, level position with the help of a simple lock. To swivel into the angled position, the lock is released by means of an ergonomically positioned mechanical control element and automatically engages again in the flat position.

Due to the nature and arrangement of the static and moving elements, it is possible to achieve the functions described in a very simple manner, which, in addition to the advantages mentioned, also enables cost-saving production.

The innovation is explained in more detail below using the examples of design and use shown in the drawings. They show:

Fig. 1 shows the front view of the furniture in the horizontal, level position. A static base frame (1) stands on the floor and supports the elements of a movable frame, consisting of an element (2) in the lying area of the lower leg, an element (3) in the lying area of the thigh and an element (4) in the lying area of the upper body.

Between these elements (2)-(3),(3)-(4) joints (5)(6) are arranged, which are preferably invisibly attached to internal locations.

A locking device (8) is arranged so that one component group is attached to a movable element (4) and the other to the static base frame (1).

In the position shown here, the locking mechanism (8) is engaged.

An operating element (9) for releasing the locking mechanism (8) is arranged at an ergonomically easy-to-reach location, preferably on the underside of a movable frame element (4).

A cushion element (10) forms the support for the movable frame and is designed in such a way that the necessary movements and deformations are possible while at the same time ensuring the necessary stability. A side cushion element (11) can be used as an armrest or as a neck support, depending on the intended use, and can be arranged on one or both sides.

Depending on the usage configuration, a support rail (12) serves as a holder for back cushions or as a storage shelf and can be connected to the static base frame (1) either permanently or detachably.

Fig. 2 shows the front view of the furniture in the angled lying position. Only one element (2) of the movable frame is firmly connected to the static base frame (1). The other elements (3)(4) can therefore pivot about the joints (5)(6). This arrangement allows the element (4) in the lying area of the upper body to perform a sliding and pivoting movement over the sliding edge (7) on the static base frame (1), in which the inner part of the element pivots downwards and the outer part pivots upwards. The movable elements and the associated upholstery element (10) thus make it possible to set the angled and flat positions in a simple, ergonomic movement sequence.

The locking mechanism (8) is released in this position. A lifting aid, e.g. in the form of a torsion spring, can preferably be arranged at the joint (6) in the lying area of the hip in order to further facilitate the movement from the angled to the flat position.

Fig. 3 shows the furniture in the variant used as a sofa for one to three people. The upholstery element is flat and horizontal, the back cushions (13) are leaning against the support rail and one or two side cushions serve as armrests. The locking mechanism is engaged in this position.

Fig. 4 shows the furniture in use as a flat lounger or guest bed. The back cushions are removed so that the full width of the upholstered element can be used. The side cushion serves as a neck support. The support rail can be used as a storage shelf, e.g. for magazines and cups, etc.

The change to the angled lying position shown in Fig. 5 is achieved by releasing the lock on the control element and simply letting yourself sink down.

Fig. 5 shows the furniture in the variant used as an angled TV and reading lounger. The side cushion can also be used as a neck support. The support rail also serves as a storage shelf, e.g. for magazines and cups, etc.

The change to the flat lying position shown in Fig. 4 or 3 is achieved by simply stretching yourself out again using a little body tension and shifting your weight. Once you have reached the flat, horizontal position, the locking mechanism automatically engages.

Sitting-reclining furniture with adjustment function from a flat sitting or reclining position to an angled reclining position, characterized by a static base frame ( 1 ) which builds up a basic height and has an opening in the middle field on the top side, on which two edges are formed on the transverse side, in combination with movable elements ( 2 ) ( 3 ) ( 4 ) connected by joints in the lying area of the back of the knee ( 5 ) and in the lying area of the hip ( 6 ), which are arranged in a plane above, or at least flush with the upper edge of, the static base frame, and are fixed to the static base frame in the lying area of the lower leg, whereby at least two of the movable elements can be at least partially pivoted downwards into the static base frame, wherein the element ( 4 ) in the lying area of the upper body simultaneously pivots partially upwards by a sliding pivoting movement over one of the edges ( 7 ) on the static base frame ( 1 ). 2. Seating-reclining furniture according to claim 1, characterized by the arrangement of a locking device ( 8 ) on a movable element ( 4 ) and on the static base frame ( 1 ), or on at least two of the movable elements ( 3 ) ( 4 ), for fixing the movable elements in the flat, horizontal position. 3. Seating-reclining furniture according to claim 1 and 2, characterized by the arrangement of an operating element ( 9 ) on a movable element ( 4 ) for releasing the locking device ( 8 ).
