A putting training device is known from practice (magazine "prolgolf", 4/2001 + 1/2002, page 47) with which the player knows immediately after the shot whether he has swung the putter correctly and hit the ball cleanly. With this device, hitting the so-called sweet spot, a straight bevel position and a correct swing path can be practiced in one movement. This device is not a training attachment for a golf club, but rather an independent training device with a club shaft and a bearing plate connected to the lower end of the club shaft, which has a striking jaw and a pair of elements that hold it between them to limit the direction of the golf ball's impact on both sides.

The fact that it is a stand-alone training device means that the training effect is improved in relation to this specific training device, but not in relation to the trainee's individual golf club, specifically their putter. Apart from this, the well-known training device is technically quite complex and, since it is not a training attachment, quite expensive.

A training attachment for a golf club, in particular a putter, is known from US-A 5,810,675. The training attachment is attached to the club head of the putter from above and has two rod-shaped elements that point forward in the direction of impact and are arranged parallel to one another, which limit the direction in which the golf ball hits the club head of the putter. This device can only be used to train the straight club face position. The advantage of this training attachment, however, is that the trainee can practice with his or her own putter.

The object of the invention is to provide a training attachment for a golf club, in particular a putter, which can be used in conjunction with a conventional golf club, whereby the training device provides an optimal

The invention proposes a training attachment for a golf club, which is characterized by a frame, a fastening device for connecting the frame to the club head of the golf club, wherein the frame surrounds the club head, a striking jaw mounted in the frame and a pair of elements mounted in the frame, which receive the striking jaws between them and limit the direction of impact of the golf ball on both sides.

The training attachment is mounted on your own golf club, especially your putter. Once you have achieved satisfactory training results using the training attachment, the training attachment is removed and the golfer continues to play with this golf club. You will have more confidence in your own putter on the round than if you had trained with someone else's training device.

The design of the training attachment with a frame and a fastening device makes it possible to use the training attachment with more than 90% of all conventional putters. The club head of the golf club is inserted into the frame and fixed to the frame using the fastening device. One component of this fastening device is, for example, a clamping screw mounted in the frame, which acts on the club head and presses it against the frame. The frame part also serves to hold the striking jaw and the pair of elements.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the striking jaws are interchangeable and the elements of the element pair are adjustable. The variable jaws, which serve to train the center of the impact moment, and the adjustable elements, which serve to train the swing direction, make the

Training device suitable for all levels of play, from beginners to professionals. The training attachment, which weighs around 150g, also improves the swing rhythm of the pendulum movement. This significantly reduces disadvantageous pendulum movements, especially those involving twitching by the person training.

With the training attachment according to the invention, all three impact factors can be trained with a conventional golf club in a pendulum movement, i.e. the clubface alignment, the centering at the moment of impact and the swing direction.

The training attachment is structurally very simple and can be manufactured inexpensively.

The training attachment 1 has a frame 2, a fastening device for connecting the frame 2 to the club head 4 of the putter 5, a striking jaw 6 mounted in the frame 2 and a pair of elements mounted in the frame 2 and accommodating the striking jaw 6 between them for limiting the teeing direction 8 of a golf ball 9 shown in dashed lines in Figure 1 on both sides.

The frame 2 is made up of two parts. It has a U-shaped base part 10 and a bearing part 12 for the striking jaw 6 and the element pair 7, which is connected to the free end areas of the legs 11. The bearing part 12 is designed as a rail. The U-shaped base part 10 is provided with the fastening device 3 in the area of the web 13 connecting the legs 11. This has a clamping screw 14, the end of which protrudes from the frame 2 is firmly connected to a wing nut 15 and the end of which protrudes into the frame 2 receives a pressure piece 16 made of plastic. The web 13 is provided with a threaded hole in the area of the axis of symmetry of the training attachment, into which the clamping screw 14 is screwed.

The club head 4 of the putter 5 has a head section 17 with a striking surface 18 and a lower head section 19. The club shaft 20 is connected to the upper end of the head section 17, the upper end of which is provided with a club handle (not shown). When the putter 5 is used without a training device, the golf ball 9 is struck using the striking surface 18, but when the training attachment is used, the golf ball 9 contacts the striking jaw 6 of the training attachment.

The striking jaw 6 and the two elements 21 and 22 of the element pair 7 are positioned symmetrically to the longitudinal center axis of the training attachment. The striking jaw 6 is screwed directly to the rail 12 with a screw 23 that passes through a hole in the rail 12 and is screwed into a threaded hole in the striking jaw 6. A striking jaw 6 can be easily exchanged for a striking jaw of a different size by loosening and re-tightening the screw connection.

Markings 24 in the form of lines on the upper side of the striking jaw 6 and the rail 12 indicate the centering at the moment of impact to the person training with the training attachment.

The respective element 21 or 22 is plate-shaped and has two end sections 25, 26 angled in opposite directions. The end sections 25 connected to the rail 12 are directed away from each other, the other end sections 26 are directed towards each other. In relation to the respective element 21 or 22, the rail 12 accommodates a guide shoe 28 which engages behind the rail projections 27 and to which a threaded bolt 29 is connected which passes through a hole (not shown) in the end section 25. The guide shoe 28 makes it possible to move the end section 25 and thus the associated element 21 or 22 in the longitudinal direction of the rail 12. A wing nut 30 screwed onto the threaded bolt 29 serves to fasten the respective element to the rail 12. Each element 21 or 22 is assigned three markings 31 on the top of the rail 12, whereby the middle section 32 of the respective element 21 or 22 connecting the end sections 25 and 26 can be brought into alignment with one of the markings 31. If the middle sections 32 are arranged in alignment with the inner markings 31, there is a distance between the ends 33 of the end sections 26 which is a relatively small amount larger than the diameter of the golf ball 9. If the middle sections 32 are aligned with the outer markings 31, this distance is significantly larger, so that a hit golf ball can exit the area of the element pair 7 even if the clubface alignment and/or the swing direction are not exact.

Claims (9)

1. Training attachment ( 1 ) for a golf club ( 5 ), in particular a putter, characterized by a frame ( 2 ), a fastening device ( 3 ) for connecting the frame ( 2 ) to the club head ( 4 ) of the golf club ( 5 ), the frame ( 2 ) surrounding the club head ( 4 ), a striking jaw ( 6 ) mounted in the frame ( 2 ) and a pair of elements ( 7 ) mounted in the frame ( 2 ) and accommodating the striking jaw ( 6 ) between them for limiting the direction of impact of the golf ball ( 9 ) on both sides. 2. Attachment according to claim 1, characterized in that impact jaws ( 6 ) of different dimensions can be connected to the frame ( 2 ). 3. Attachment according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the respective element ( 21 , 22 ) of the element pair ( 7 ) is plate-shaped and has two end sections ( 25 , 26 ) angled in opposite directions, wherein the end sections ( 25 , 26 ) connected to the frame ( 2 ) are directed away from each other. 4. Attachment according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the frame ( 2 ) has a rail ( 12 ) for the displaceable mounting of the elements ( 21 , 22 ) of the element pair ( 7 ). 5. Attachment according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the frame ( 2 ) is designed in two parts and has a U-shaped base part ( 10 ) and a bearing part ( 12 ) connected to the free legs of the U for the striking jaw ( 6 ) and the element pair ( 7 ). 6. Attachment according to claim 5, characterized in that the bearing part ( 12 ) is designed as a rail. 7. Attachment according to claim 5 or 6, characterized in that the U-shaped base part ( 10 ) is provided with the fastening device ( 3 ) in the region of the web ( 13 ) connecting the legs ( 11 ). 8. Attachment according to claim 7, characterized in that the fastening device ( 3 ) has a clamping screw ( 14 ) which is screwed into a threaded bore of the web ( 13 ) of the base part ( 10 ). 9. Attachment according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the frame ( 2 ) is provided with markings ( 24 , 31 ) for adjusting or checking the position of the striking jaw ( 6 ) and/or the element pair ( 7 ).
