Description

The shelving system is needed to house the THW field cable construction and telecommunications equipment.

A mirror-symmetrical shelving system for storing specialist equipment is installed on the loading area of the existing MLW-IV, as well as various brackets for individual equipment elements. The shelving system and the equipment loaded into it are secured in such a way that safe transport is still possible when acceleration forces of 1 g to the front, 0.8 g to the side and 0.5 g to the rear are introduced. This means that no objects or equipment elements fall out after the force is introduced, so that a journey can continue safely.

Description of the equipment carrier / the individual carrier elements and compartments:

Slatted sash fans:

There are eight compartments on the side walls, each for a slatted shears top or bottom section made of shatter-proof material. They are arranged one above the other, compartment size approx. 125mm ∅, compartment length approx. 2850mm. The slatted shears are secured against accidental falling out by a flap. The 2 lower compartments are marked red and are 2200 mm deep (wire fork compartment).

Field cable drum magazine

In addition to the slatted compartments, a magazine is provided for holding five drums of field cable. The field cable drums have a diameter of approx. 520 mm and a width of approx. 460 mm. The field cable drums lie on the floor of the loading area.

To ensure that the standing surfaces do not dig into the floor of the platform, metal supports are used as standing and rolling surfaces. The field cable drums are individually secured in position by screen-printed plates which should be approx. 22 mm thick.

Unwinding device:

At the rear of the vehicle, on each side at the end of the field cable rack, there is a reeling device mounted onto which the field cable drum is rolled, the roller axle is inserted through the cable drum and the field cable drum is locked into the reeling device with a light movement of the hand. The reeling device is fitted with a brake. The drum axle bearing is located approx. 100mm from the rear of the platform.

In addition, two chains with snap hooks must be attached to secure the drum. The chains must be protected with a rubber hose.

Building rod compartments

Above the field cable shelf there is a compartment of the same width for holding construction poles. The compartment is approx. 2250 mm deep and approx. 40 mm high. Above the slatted scissor shelf there is a compartment approx. 40 mm high for holding construction poles approx. 1250 mm long. The poles are secured against accidental falling out by a flap.

Shelf for additional equipment

Above the construction poles, a shelf compartment is provided on each side of the vehicle for other equipment, with a minimum width of 520 mm (tent table set) between the lashing rails and a minimum height of 340 mm. The compartment is built to be the same length as the field cable shelf. The shelf is designed with an edge approx. 50 mm high at the front and rear of the vehicle. Lashing rails (airline rails) are mounted continuously in the shelf towards the outside and middle of the vehicle.

Folding ladder, screw earthing and post iron

Between the shelf wall for alternative equipment and the tarpaulin structure, there is enough space on the right-hand side of the vehicle for a folding ladder and on the left-hand side of the vehicle there is enough space for a screw-on earthing device and a stake. Appropriate fastening straps or brackets are provided to secure the devices so that they do not slip. The compartment is provided with a rear wall to protect the tarpaulin.

Front wall shelf:

A shelf approximately 600 mm deep is mounted on the front of the flatbed across the entire width of the vehicle.

The height from the loading area floor to the first shelf is such that field cable drums can be stored upright.

The first shelf from the bottom is filled across the entire width of the vehicle with storage boxes that correspond in size, type and quality to type LF 532, order number S36B/94189 from SSI-Schäfer-Shop. The storage boxes are secured against accidental falling out or slipping. They can be removed individually.
