Magazines of the most well-known and common designs are usually made of metal and have a base cover. The magazine is inserted into the magazine slot of the weapon with the top facing down and locked in place. The magazine is usually positioned in the middle of the weapon and protrudes downwards. As the magazine is subjected to mechanical stress, it becomes deformed, particularly on the base cover and the lower corners. A burr can also form, which can then lead to injuries or damage to objects. Basically, however, the additional weight of the weapon causes the magazine to press into the soldiers' lower abdomen or groin area, especially when the weapon is carried in the hunting position, i.e. forwards in the firing position with the belt over the shoulder. In addition, the magazine rubs against the areas described when running. This pressure and friction are annoying and uncomfortable over time, especially when soldiers are on guard duty or on patrol. In addition, clothing wears out very quickly due to the magazine rubbing against the affected areas.

In addition, due to the design of such magazines, it cannot be ruled out that they will rattle when subjected to mechanical impact. The use of adhesive tape, such as wrapping the magazine with insulating tape, is only an inadequate remedy and is not necessarily suitable for practical use.

The invention specified in the protection claim is based on the problem of creating a magazine pad that is easy to assemble and disassemble and that makes the friction and pressure caused by the magazine when carrying the weapon in a hunting position more bearable. In addition, the wear and tear on clothing caused by the friction of the magazine on clothing should be prevented. In addition, the pad should serve to insulate against rattling, namely when the magazine hits or hits objects or the ground.

These problems are solved with the features listed in the protection claim.

The invention makes it very easy to slide a cushion onto a magazine that is locked for use in a weapon. The shape and choice of material make it possible to manufacture it using an injection molding process. The opening of the receiving shaft is shaped so that it lies flush with the outer edges of the magazine. With a little pressure, the cushion is pushed onto the magazine and held in place by the rubber bead. The magazine cushion thus sits tightly against the magazine. The conical shape of the receiving shaft prevents an air cushion from forming in the shaft when it is pushed on, which would then make assembly more difficult. The use of a soft material and the air gap that forms in the receiving shaft during assembly, namely between the magazine and the conical receiving shaft wall, mean that the sound development of rattling noises that arise when the magazine hits or hits the ground is dampened. The conical outer shape of the cushion means that additional soft material is applied to the lower area as cushioning material. In combination with the rounded corners and edges of the magazine pad, pressure or friction caused by the magazine is significantly reduced for the soldier. There is no longer any wear and tear on clothing caused by the magazine rubbing against the body.
