Fertig gebildetes Kupferbromid ist, soweit die Lite-It is known (cf. z. B. Valenta, photographic chemistry, p. 83) that copper bromide can be used as an enhancer by bleaching the negatives in a solution of this salt after fixing and washing and then treated with alkaline developer solution or silver nitrate solution! When executing this procedure was the copper bromide by reacting aqueous solutions formed from vitriol with potassium bromide or sodium bromide; it was therefore necessary the equivalent amounts of the two required to form the copper bromide Always weigh and solve salts separately from one another, which is after all cumbersome and was associated with special work. Completely formed copper bromide is, as far as the Lite-
The great fluidity this salt also makes it impossible to use a long-life, ready-to-use bromide for reinforcement, for example in the Manufacture form by adding crystallized vitriol with potassium bromide, because this immediately creates a brownish mass which dissolves in the air.
Since great emphasis is placed in photographic practice on all technical To simplify aids, so that, if possible, ready-to-use preparations without the need for special weighing or separate dissolution in water it would be of great value to have the copper bromide in a could produce a solid and durable form that would readily permit use. It has been found that this goal is achieved if one finely powdered dehydrated potassium bromide or sodium bromide Copper vitriol adds; it has been shown; that it is for achieving a good working Preparation is advantageous to use a larger amount of dehydrated copper vitriol, than 1 mole of vitriol per 2 moles of bromine alkali. The thus obtained The preparation is a slightly colored powder that can be stored undecomposed, z. B. in the cartridges generally used in traffic; one has before use only necessary, either the contents of such a cartridge or a weighed one or to dissolve a measured part thereof in water.
