Universal bag

The invention relates to a universal bag with a variable interior with movable removable inserts that can be exchanged or supplemented by other inserts and that are designed in such a way that a wide variety of objects can be carried largely invisibly, and with a mechanism or the like for hanging or fastening documents to ensure that they cannot fall out.

There are known bags or cases for diabetics that allow them to carry their equipment for measuring blood sugar, injecting insulin, disinfecting, etc. However, there are no known bags or cases that have a diabetic diary built into them. Both of these are things that diabetics need for the independent daily treatment of their disease. There are also no known bags or cases that can also hold a cell phone for emergency calls. One disadvantage of such bags or cases is that if they tip over, the contents can fall out completely or partially.

There are bags for carrying office supplies such as writing utensils, appointment planners, cell phones, small computers, etc. (also known as so-called "organizers"), but these are not flexible in their design and do not allow other things to be carried at the same time (see previous paragraph) and do not have a built-in ring mechanism.

There are pockets for mobile phones, but they do not offer the possibility of storing other items such as diabetic supplies in them.

Hanging up documents, schedules, etc., with loops for inserting writing utensils and/or small computers, etc. However, these do not allow you to carry any other objects and when opened, the contents are visible.

There are also small suitcases for cosmetic items, known as "cosmetic cases" or "cosmetic boxes", which are bulky and do not have variable interior fittings and, above all, do not allow you to carry documents.

All of these bags etc. have the common disadvantage that when opened, their contents are visible to third parties and are therefore not discreet. The user must therefore take special precautions to protect themselves.

The following invention improves and combines these different bags into a universal bag with differently designed removable inserts and a ring mechanism, which are designed in such a way that the respective contents can be kept hidden or, in the case of documents, covered with a sheet.

The invention is characterized in claim 1. The other claims characterize advantageous embodiments and developments of the invention.

An embodiment of the invention is described below using a diabetic bag with corresponding drawings. They show:

The universal bag 1 shown in Figure 1 has a zipper 2 running around three narrow sides and can be opened on the narrow side 3. On the narrow side 3, an eyelet 4 is attached to the outer edges on the right and left to attach a shoulder strap 5 with a bayonet lock 6. This means that even a diabetic who is already walking-impaired can use the universal bag 1.

always carry it with you. The universal bag is preferably made of leather; however, other materials such as imitation leather, plastic, synthetic fibers such as nylon, etc. are also possible.

Figure 2 shows the inside view of the universal bag 1 with the zipper 2 running around three sides and the eyelets 4, with the functional insert for diabetics 7, the ring mechanism 8, the diabetic diary 11, the multi-purpose insert 12 and the mobile phone insert 15. Next to it is the loop 19 for inserting a writing instrument 20. The functional insert for diabetics 7, multi-purpose insert 12 and mobile phone insert 15 are removable and are attached in the example with Velcro fasteners 14, 17 and 21.

The permanently mounted ring mechanism 8 can be opened using the levers 9 and has 4 rings 10 for hanging the diabetic diary pages 11, preferably the diabetic yearbook DSD (© K.u.K. Werbung Annemarie Kubier). Other ring binder mechanisms with more rings and possibly removable ones are conceivable.

The multi-purpose insert 12 can be closed with a loop 13. It can hold glucose for emergencies (hypoglycemia) or tablets, etc. It is attached with Velcro 14.

The cell phone insert 15 can be closed with a flap 16 and is attached with Velcro 17. On the (not visible) back there is a loop 18 for attaching the cell phone case to a belt. This means that the cell phone can also be carried without the universal case 1.

The diabetic insert 7 is attached to the universal bag 1 with the Velcro fasteners 21. It has a double zipper 22 running around three sides and can thus be opened and unfolded in the universal bag. On the top there are pockets 23 for health insurance cards, etc. Pocket 24 can be opened with a zipper 25 and can hold test strips for blood sugar, swabs, etc.

Figure 3 shows an embodiment of the unfolded functional insert for diabetics 7. Storage container 26 is used to store needles for insulin pens

and lancing devices, waste container 27 holds used test strips and both containers are held in place with loops 28. Below this is a loop for the blood glucose meter 30. Next to this are 4 loops 31 for both insulin pens 32, lancing device 33 for taking blood, disposable syringe 34 or writing device 34 or other items. In the upper part 35 that is opened to the left, a cooling element is attached with Velcro 37 so that when closed, only the insulin pens 32 are cooled, but not the blood glucose meter 30.

Other arrangements than the one shown are possible. Other diabetes therapies than the "ICT" embodiment shown require other classifications.

The above-described embodiment of a diabetic bag shows the advantages of the invention:

- Bringing together the diabetic utensils, the emergency (grape) sugar, the diabetic diary for documentation and the mobile phone in one bag,

- completely accessible for every diabetic,

- with the shoulder strap it can also be carried by diabetics with walking difficulties,

- sufficient supplies for weekend trips,

- in case of malaise (hypoglycaemia or hyperglycaemia), emergency ID and important information about diabetes are immediately available to helpers,

- when changing therapy, not the entire universal bag, but only the functional insert for diabetics and the diabetic diary used must be replaced with ones adapted for the new therapy,

- discreet, out-of-sight storage of diabetes utensils and the diabetic diary,

- possible use of the mobile phone insert as another multi-purpose insert.

Claims (24)

1. Universal bag ( 1 ), characterized in that a zipper ( 2 ) runs around a hollow body on three sides and the contents consist of a removable functional insert ( 7 ), a hollow body with a circumferential fastener, a removable multi-purpose insert ( 12 ), a hollow body with a fastener ( 13 ) and a removable cell phone insert ( 15 ), a hollow body with a fastener ( 16 ), which are fastened with Velcro fasteners ( 14 , 17 and 21 ) or snap fasteners or the like, and a permanently attached ring mechanism ( 8 ) for filing documents ( 11 ) and a loop ( 19 ) for holding an elongated object ( 20 ), primarily a writing instrument. 2. Universal bag according to claim 1, characterized in that the eyelets ( 4) are attached to the side (3 ) for attaching a handle. 3. Universal bag according to claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the functional insert ( 7 ) has a tab with a clasp on its upper side for covering the insert compartments ( 23 ). 6. Universal bag according to claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the functional insert 7 in the inner part contains special devices such as loops or the like for accommodating diabetic supplies such as insulin pens ( 32 ), blood sugar measuring device ( 30 ), lancing device ( 33 ), storage and waste containers ( 26 , 27 ) etc. and that these devices can be arranged as desired. 7. Universal bag according to claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the functional insert ( 7 ) is designed differently according to the requirements of the various diabetes therapies. 8. Universal bag according to claims 1 to 7, characterized in that a removable cooling element ( 36 ) is mounted in the upper part ( 35 ) of the functional insert ( 7 ) in such a way that only the corresponding zone of the functional insert ( 7 ) is cooled 9. Universal bag according to claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the functional insert ( 7 ) contains special devices for accommodation for use as a small toiletry bag. 16. Universal bag according to claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the functional insert ( 7 ) is divided into compartments which are designed in such a way that they can be firmly closed with the upper part ( 35 ). 17. Universal bag according to claims 1 to 5 and 16, characterized in that the compartment division is adjustable. 18. Universal bag according to claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the functional insert ( 7 ) contains special devices for storing jewelry. 19. Universal bag according to claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the multi-purpose bag 12 contains a waterproof inner lining. 20. Universal bag according to claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the mobile phone insert 15 has a loop on the back to attach it to a belt. 21. Universal bag according to claims 1 to 5 and 17, characterized in that the mobile phone insert 15 contains a waterproof inner lining. 22. Universal bag according to claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the ring mechanism 8 is not permanently mounted, but is removably attached. 23. Universal bag according to claims 1 to 5, characterized in that no ring binder mechanism ( 8 ) is attached. 24. Universal bag according to claims 1 to 5 and 20, characterized in that a device such as a clamping strip or an elastic band is attached for hanging documents.
