The invention relates to a toothbrush consisting of a plastic molded part forming the handle and the brush body carrying the bristles.

Traditionally, toothpaste used to brush teeth is applied to the bristles of the toothbrush each time the toothbrush is used, and the toothpaste is kept in separate toothpaste tubes. This is satisfactory for home use, but the conventional handling is unsatisfactory when travelling, especially for short trips, as toothpaste tubes are not only an additional travel utensil, but also a source of insecurity because it often happens that toothpaste leaks out of the tube when intensively packing and stowing luggage, which can lead to contamination of the surrounding area.

Against this background, the invention now proposes a toothbrush consisting of a plastic molded part forming the handle and the brush body carrying the bristles, the hollow handle of which forms a reservoir for toothpaste merging into a channel which extends through at least a partial area of the brush body and is closed at the front, from which at least one outlet opening oriented towards the side of the brush body carrying the bristles extends at a distance from the transition of the hollow space into the brush body, and a partial area of the brush handle is set to be elastically deformable.

The toothpaste is fed from the toothpaste reservoir in the toothbrush handle to the bristles by applying pressure to the elastically deformable area of the brush handle directly through the channel extending through the brush body. Carrying a tube of toothpaste with you is unnecessary, at least on short trips. Especially if the toothbrush is

Since the device is returned to a transport container provided for this purpose after use, contamination of the surrounding area is practically impossible.

Embodiments of the invention emerge from the subclaims 2 to 9.

The toothbrush according to the invention can be designed as a disposable product, the filling opening is then permanently closed after filling. However, the toothpaste reservoir integrated into the toothbrush can also be refillable, in which case the filling opening is of course provided with a detachable closure. In one embodiment, it can be provided that the cavity formed in the handle of the toothbrush is designed as a receptacle for a replaceable cartridge containing the toothpaste.

Openings in the brush body with increasing cross-sections through which the toothpaste exits ensure that toothpaste also reaches the front area of the brush.

The solution according to the invention is explained in more detail in the drawing using an embodiment shown in a very schematic manner. Shown are:

The handle of the toothbrush, which consists of a plastic molded part, is designated with 11, the brush body carrying the bristles 21 with 12. A cavity 111 for receiving toothpaste is formed in the handle 11 of the toothbrush and is connected to a channel 121 extending through the brush body 12 (111'). The cavity 111 formed in the handle 11 is provided with a filling opening 112 that can be closed with a plug 113. The channel 121 formed in the brush body 12 has outlet openings 122, 122'... oriented toward the side of the brush body 12 carrying the bristles 21.

Preferably, on the side of the handle 11 facing away from the side of the brush body carrying the bristles 21, a partial region 11' extending substantially over the length of the handle 11 is set to be elastically deformable.

If necessary, under the influence (arrow D in Figure 2) of the index finger, or possibly the thumb, of the person using the toothbrush on the elastically deformable portion 11' of the peripheral surface of the handle 11, toothpaste is transferred from the toothpaste reservoir formed in the handle 11 into the channel 121 extending through the brush body 12 and is discharged from the channel 121 through the openings 122, 122' ... oriented towards the side of the brush body 12 carrying the bristles 21 to the extent deemed necessary.

Claims (10)

1. Toothbrush, consisting of a plastic molded part forming the handle and the brush body carrying the bristles, characterized by a hollow handle forming a reservoir for toothpaste, the hollow space of which merges into a channel extending through at least a partial area of the brush body and closed at the front, from which at least one outlet opening oriented towards the side of the brush body carrying the bristles extends at a distance from the transition of the hollow space into the brush body, wherein a partial area of the brush handle is set to be elastically deformable. 2. Toothbrush according to claim 1, characterized in that the elastically deformable portion of the peripheral surface of the handle is located on the side facing away from the bristles. 3. Toothbrush according to claim 1 or claim 2, characterized in that the channel running in the brush body extends substantially over the length of the brush body. 4. Toothbrush according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized by a plurality of outlet openings extending at a distance from one another through the channel from the brush body. 5. Toothbrush according to claim 4, characterized by outlet openings in sequence of increasing cross-section. 6. Toothbrush according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterized by a closing body which opens against pressure acting on it in the direction of the brush body in the transition region from the toothpaste reservoir into the channel extending through the brush body. 7. Toothbrush according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized by a closable filling opening opening into the cavity formed in the handle. 8. Toothbrush according to claim 7, characterized by a filling opening formed in front of the head of the handle. 9. Toothbrush according to claim 8, characterized by a cartridge containing toothpaste, the mouth of which rests against a shoulder formed on the inlet side of the channel passing through the brush body, is replaceably inserted into the handle, is plastically deformable and contains the toothpaste. 10. Toothbrush according to claim 9, characterized by a cartridge which can be secured to the shoulder formed on the channel passing through the brush body.
