Um eine Variationsmöglichkeit zu erhalten, sind diese Profilleisten in unterschiedlichen Breiten, Längen, Dicken, Farben, Prägungen und Verzeihrungen erhältlich. Unabhängig von den Verzierungen der einzelnen Bilderleiste ist ihnen aber eines immer gemeinsam: Sie weisen eine einseitige rechtwinklige Falzung auf, die nach Zusammensetzen der Rahmenkonstruktion nach innen gerichtet ist und in die letztlich die übrigen Bestandteile des Bildes (Rückwand, Bild, Passepartout, Rahmenglas) eingepasst werden. Die letztgenannte weitere Falzung ist aus dem Gesamtprofil der Profilleiste so herausgearbeitet, dass im Ergebnis beide Falzungen „nasenförmig" ausgestaltet sind und von ihrer Form und ihren Ausmaßen, insbesondere der in gleicher horizontaler Ebene befindlichen Auflage- bzw. Kopplungsfläche, korrespondierend zueinander und damit zu weiteren derartigen Profilleisten angeordnet sind.
