Noticeboard

The invention relates to a notice board for displaying flat objects, in particular information sheets, with a presentation wall forming the display surface and means for detachably fastening the objects to the presentation wall.

Such noticeboards are used, for example, in office buildings, as information boards to inform visitors at conferences and congresses in conference centers and hotels. They are used to display information signs, signposts and written information. It is common practice with these noticeboards to attach the objects intended for display to the presentation wall using pins, thumbtacks and the like. Since these damage both the displayed objects and the presentation wall, small magnets, which are then used to fix the objects to the corresponding metal presentation wall, are now a common fastening method.

A disadvantage of the known notice boards is that the means used to detachably attach the items to be displayed can easily be misplaced or lost completely when the items are exchanged. Furthermore, the fastening means are usually available in excess or in short supply, so that either more must be brought in or the surplus must be stored in an unused area of the display.

The latter is particularly disadvantageous in the case of noticeboards which serve representational purposes, for example in the foyer of office buildings, where an aesthetic appearance is desired. In addition, fastening the objects, which require several fastening devices, is a time-consuming process which, in the above-mentioned case of noticeboards which serve representational purposes, is further prolonged by the fact that the objects have to be arranged in an attractive manner.

It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a notice board which does not have these disadvantages. In particular, the objects to be displayed should be easy to attach and can be arranged in a short time and in an attractive manner. In addition, the notice board should have an aesthetic appearance both when it is loaded with objects and when it is not in use.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that at least one rod is provided which extends essentially parallel to the presentation wall and can be pressed against it, between which and the presentation wall the objects can be clamped.

By using a rod that can be pressed against the presentation wall, the items to be displayed can be attached quickly and easily. For example, a sheet of paper can simply be pushed between the wall and the rod with one narrow side, whereby the rod automatically lifts itself away from the wall against the pressure so far that the sheet can be pushed in between.

but holds the sheet in place from the start so that it cannot accidentally fall down. There is no need to laboriously hold the sheet by hand until the pins or magnets are attached. The sheet can also be easily adjusted after hanging without the risk of it falling down. If a suitably thin rod is used and the sheet is only clamped at the edges, its contents are essentially not covered up any more than with pins or magnets.

In one embodiment of the invention, the rod runs essentially horizontally when the noticeboard is arranged vertically and is pressed against the presentation wall by its own weight. This embodiment enables a particularly simple construction of the noticeboard, since no springs or other devices are required to press the rod against the presentation wall. The horizontal alignment of the rod also allows objects to be displayed to be aligned with it.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the rod is mounted in guides arranged laterally to the presentation wall, in particular in side walls running perpendicular to it, which are inclined in the direction of the presentation wall. This embodiment advantageously presses the rod against the presentation wall through its own weight, whereby the arrangement of the guides in the side walls allows for a particularly simple and therefore cost-effective construction of the notice board.

Preferably, at least two pairs of guides inclined in opposite directions are provided. This means that the notice board can also be arranged rotated by 180°.

In a special embodiment of the invention, two pairs of guides are provided that are inclined in opposite directions and are each adjacent to a horizontal edge of the presentation wall, with one pair of guides being at a smaller distance from the adjacent horizontal edge than the other pair of guides being at a smaller distance from the adjacent horizontal edge. Depending on the orientation of the display board, the objects to be displayed can thus be hung at two different heights even if they are only clamped at the edge.

In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, one pair of guides is at a distance from the horizontal edge that is slightly smaller than the standard height of a sheet of paper, in particular smaller than the DIN A4 standard height, while the other pair of guides is immediately adjacent to the adjacent horizontal edge. This embodiment allows two or more notice boards to be grouped in such a way that documents can be hung up on them directly next to one another by clamping them at the edges. For example, a notice board with a rod immediately adjacent to the upper edge can be arranged directly under a second notice board with a rod immediately adjacent to the lower edge.

Preferably, the guides are designed as slots through which the rod can pass. Guides designed in this way are particularly easy and inexpensive to manufacture. In addition, providing a large number of such guide slots results in a particularly aesthetic impression.

In one embodiment of the invention, the rod is provided with circumferential ring grooves on its outer surface for lateral guidance, with which it is mounted in the slots. This advantageously prevents the rod from being displaced in the direction of its longitudinal axis and thus also prevents the rod from sliding sideways out of its guides.

In a further development of the invention, the diameter of the rod is larger than the width of the slots and the slots have an extension in their end area remote from the presentation wall that is at least slightly larger than the diameter of the rod outside the annular groove. The rod can therefore only be removed from the guides in a raised position. This prevents the rod from accidentally coming loose from the guides.

Another way to guide the rod laterally is to provide thickenings at its ends. This also prevents the rod from shifting in the direction of its longitudinal axis and thus also prevents the rod from sliding sideways out of its guides.

In this design, the rod can also be prevented from accidentally coming loose from its guides by making the diameter of the thickenings larger than the width of the slots and by making the slots in their end area remote from the display wall wider, which is at least slightly larger than the diameter of the thickenings. Instead of widening the slots, the thickenings can also be designed to be unscrewable.

It is preferred if the rod has a friction-increasing surface. This improves the holding effect of the rod on the objects due to the pressure of the rod against the presentation wall.

In a further embodiment of the invention, a transparent cover plate, in particular made of glass, is provided to cover the presentation wall. This prevents dirt and unwanted removal or addition of objects to the notice board. Furthermore, the cover plate improves the appearance of the notice board.

To allow easy access to the presentation wall, the cover panel is connected to the presentation wall via swivel joints. This allows the cover panel to be swung away from the presentation wall to replace items that have been hung out.

This makes it particularly easy to design the swivel joints and at the same time gives them an aesthetically pleasing shape.

The recesses are preferably provided in an outer corner area of the side walls facing the presentation wall, with the presentation wall having recesses opposite the blocks to enable the cover panel to be pivoted. This arrangement of the recesses for the pin serving as a pivot axis affects the area available for display as little as possible. In addition, the recesses in the presentation wall allow the display board to be constructed flat without affecting the pivoting range of the cover panel.

In a further embodiment of the invention, a tab extending perpendicularly to the presentation wall in the direction of the cover panel is provided on the side of the presentation wall facing away from the hinges, and a further cuboid is connected to the cover panel, in particular by gluing, on the side of the cover panel facing away from the hinges, each of which has a through-opening which is aligned with one another when the cover panel is folded onto the presentation wall, so that a locking pin can be inserted through the through-openings. This locking mechanism consisting of the tab and the cuboid advantageously provides a solution for locking the cover panel that is both simple and cost-effective. At the same time, the cuboid, together with the cuboids of the hinges, forms an aesthetically pleasing overall arrangement.

The presentation wall, the side parts and the tab are preferably made in one piece. Advantageously, the notice board can therefore be made largely from a single metal sheet that is cut out and shaped accordingly. This allows for particularly cost-effective production.

Figure 1 shows a guidance and control system such as can be used in conference centers, for example. The system consists of four display boards 1 according to the invention arranged in pairs next to and above one another, as well as further elements 2 arranged to the side of them, which are adapted in size and arrangement to the four display boards 1 according to the invention, so that an overall rectangular outer contour of the arrangement results.

As can be seen in particular from Figures 2 and 5, the notice board 1 according to the invention comprises an essentially square presentation wall 3 forming the notice area with side walls 4 integrally formed on two opposite sides and an upper section 5 in Figure 5, which is also integrally formed with the presentation wall 3. The side walls 4 and the upper section 5 are each formed by narrow straight strips, with an outward-facing, rectangular tab 6 being present in the middle of the upper section 5. In the finished state, the two side walls 4 and the upper section 5 are each folded along the fold lines 7 in Figure 5 perpendicular to the presentation wall 3.

In the lower end areas of the two side walls 4 facing away from section 5, there is a passage opening 8 and in the adjacent sections of the presentation wall 3 there is an associated recess 9. In each of the passage openings 8, a pivot pin 10 engages which, as can be seen in particular in Figure 3c, is inserted into a hinge block 11 which is connected in particular by gluing to a cover plate 12 for the presentation wall 3. The cover plate 12 consists in particular of glass and covers the entire display area defined by the presentation wall 3. It is pivotally mounted in the side walls 4 of the presentation wall 3 via the hinge blocks 11 with the pins 10 in order to enable access to the presentation wall 3.

Due to the recesses 9 in the presentation wall 3, the cover plate 12 can be pivoted closely around the presentation wall 3, as can be seen in particular from Figures 4a to c. The through openings 8 are provided for this purpose in a lower corner area of the side walls 4 close to the presentation wall 3, so that the joint blocks 11 pass through the recesses 9 in the presentation wall 3 when the cover plate 12 is pivoted. This allows the notice board 1 according to the invention to be designed to be particularly flat.

In its end region facing away from the hinge blocks 11, the cover plate 12 has a locking block 13 arranged centrally on its outside, which cooperates with the tab 6 in section 5 of the presentation wall 3 to lock the cover plate 12 in its folded-up position. The tab 6 and the locking block 13 are

for this purpose, each is provided with a through-opening 14, 15 into which a locking pin 23, shown only in Figure 1, can be inserted. The pin 23 is provided in particular with a section which is wider than the through-openings 14, so that when inserted into the through-openings 14, 15, it is supported by the respective top side of the tab 6. The locking block 13 is also connected to the cover plate 12, preferably by gluing.

As shown in Figures 2 and 5, the side walls 4 of the presentation wall 3 are also provided with slots 16 through which a rod 17 passes. The slots 16 are arranged in pairs opposite one another in the side walls 4, with one pair of slots 16 being arranged immediately adjacent to the edge 18 of the presentation wall 3 adjoining the section 5, while a second pair of slots 16 is at a distance from this edge 18 that is slightly greater than the height of a DIN A4 sheet of paper.

The slots 16 run with their longitudinal axis at an angle α to the presentation wall 3, whereby the two slots 16 of one pair each have the same angle to each other, but are inclined in opposite directions to the two slots 16 of the other pair. Due to this inclination of the slots 16, the rod 17 inserted into a pair of slots moves, depending on the orientation of the notice board 1, due to its own weight to one or the other end of the slots 16 of the pair of slots. In the embodiment shown in Figure 2, the rod 17, which is inserted into the pair of slots adjacent to the edge 18 of the presentation wall 3, moves to the end of the slot adjacent to the presentation wall 3 and, since the slots

16 have a corresponding length, are pressed against the presentation wall 3 by their own weight. A rod 17 inserted into the other pair of slots, not shown in Figure 2, is moved away from the presentation wall 3, since the lower pair of slots has an opposite inclination. If the noticeboard shown in Figure 2 is arranged in an orientation rotated by 180°, the rod 17 adjacent to the edge 18 moves away from the presentation wall 3, while the rod 17 inserted into the other pair of slots is pressed against the presentation wall 3 by its own weight.

As can be seen in Figures 2 and 5, the slots 16 each have an extension at their end remote from the presentation wall 3. The diameter of the extension 19 is selected to be slightly larger than the diameter of the rods 17. Accordingly, the non-expanded section 20 of the slots 16 is narrower than the diameter of the rods 17. To guide the rods 17 in the slots 16, these therefore have, as shown in Figure 3a, in their two end regions in their outer surface, annular grooves 21 running in the circumferential direction, the reduced diameter of which is slightly smaller than the width of the section 20 of the slots 16. In this way, the rods 17 can be moved along the slots 16 and are secured against displacement in the direction of their longitudinal axis and thus against falling out of the slots 16. The rods 17 can be inserted into and removed from the slots 16 via the extensions 19 of the slots 16.

Another way of securing the rods 17 against falling out of the slots 16 is to fix the rods 17 as shown in Figure 3b

shown, to be provided with spherical thickenings 22 at their ends in the example shown. The ball diameter is slightly larger than the width of the slots 16, while the diameter of the rods 17 is slightly smaller than this. To insert the rods 17 with the thickenings 22 into the slots 16 and to remove them, these can in turn have an extension in their end region remote from the presentation wall 3. Another possibility is to design the thickenings 22 of the rods 17 so that they can be unscrewed from them. In both cases, this again enables the rods 17 to be displaced along the slots 16 while at the same time securing the rods against displacement in the direction of their longitudinal axis and thus against falling out of the slots.

To use the notice board 1 according to the invention, it is hung or set up in a vertical orientation, for example as shown in Figure 1. The side with the locking mechanism 6, 13 can be at the top or bottom. In Figure 1, the two upper notice boards 1 are oriented so that the locking mechanisms 6, 13 are at the bottom, while the two lower notice boards 1 are oriented the other way round. After releasing the locking mechanism by pulling the locking pin 23 out of the openings 14 and 15 of the tab 6 and the locking block 13, the cover plates 12 of the two upper notice boards 1 can be pivoted upwards and the cover plates 12 of the two lower notice boards 1 can be pivoted downwards. The presentation walls 3 of the notice boards 1 are now accessible, so that items to be displayed can be attached and removed.

To hang up a sheet of paper 24, for example, the upper end of the sheet is inserted between a rod 17 and the presentation wall 3 of a notice board 1. The rod 17 is lifted off the presentation wall against its weight so far that the sheet 24 can be pushed in as far as desired. The rod is then pressed further against the presentation wall 3 so that the sheet 24 is clamped between the rod 17 and the presentation wall 3 right from the start and cannot accidentally fall off. The sheet 24 can now be pushed in as far as required between the rod 17 and the presentation wall 3 and aligned with the rod 17. Due to the horizontal orientation of the rod 17, this automatically results in a parallel orientation of the sheet 24 to the sides of the notice board 1 and thus an attractive appearance.

In this way, items to be displayed can be attached to all four of the noticeboards 1 shown. As can be seen, sheets 24 can be grouped due to the position of the rods 17 in such a way that four sheets 24 are arranged directly next to and above one another. In the case of the two upper noticeboards 1, the two sheets 24 are held by the two rods 17, which are each a little smaller distance from the distant horizontal edge 18 of the noticeboard 1 than the height of a DIN A4 sheet, and in the case of the two lower noticeboards 1, the two sheets 24 are held by the two rods 17, which are immediately adjacent to the horizontal edge 18. The other rods 17 of the noticeboards 1 are each inactive, since the rods 17 are inclined in opposite directions.

the corresponding slots 16 are each removed from the presentation wall 3.

Of course, the notice boards 1 can also be used individually or in a different combination in the manner described. The orientation of the notice board 1 can be used to choose where the rods 17 should be located. As indicated in Figure 5, it is also possible to provide a large number of slots 16 in the side walls 4 of the notice board 1, which are arranged in pairs at regular intervals and with alternating inclination directions. Such a design makes it possible to arrange rods 17 at practically any height of the notice board 1. The rods 17 can be brought into the desired position by the user himself by taking them out of one pair of slots and inserting them into another pair of slots in the manner described above. This allows the notice board to be designed in almost any way, and items to be displayed can be attached at different heights. Due to the alternating inclination of the slot pairs, this is possible in both orientations of the notice board 1, so that the notice board 1 can be arranged with the locking mechanism 6, 13 arranged at the bottom or at the top as desired.

The presentation wall 3 is formed in one piece together with the side walls 4 and the section 5 as well as the tab 6, as shown in Figure 5. This makes the production of the notice board particularly easy. The rods 17 can be made of spring steel or V2A steel, for example, and each can be provided with a friction-increasing surface in order to improve the holding effect on the noticeboard items.

The joint blocks 11 and the locking block 13 can also be made of V2A steel.

In the variant shown in Figure 6, the notice board 1 largely corresponds to the notice boards 1 according to the invention shown in Figure 1. Only the cover plate 12 is pivotably mounted in a different way here. The cover plate 12 can be pivoted about a lateral vertical axis I relative to the presentation wall 3. For this purpose, hinges are glued to the inside of the cover plate 12 in a lower corner area 25 and an upper corner area 26 or are connected to the cover plate 12 in some other way. The hinges are preferably concealed, for example by a film or a color print. An unintentional opening of the cover plate 12 can be prevented by a locking mechanism, for example a magnetic lock, on the side facing away from the axis I. The lock can also be lockable to prevent unauthorized access.

Overall, the result is a noticeboard that is easy to manufacture and use, and has a very attractive appearance. The holders for the items being displayed are easy to use and cannot be lost. In addition, there are no redundant holders that would have to be placed somewhere on the noticeboard. This also has a positive effect on the visual appearance of the noticeboard. The pivoting bearing of the cover plate 12 via the hinge blocks 11 and the locking via the tab 6 and the locking blocks 3 also contribute to this.

Notice board for displaying flat objects ( 24 ), in particular information sheets, with a presentation wall ( 3 ) forming the display surface and means ( 17 ) for detachably fastening the objects ( 24 ) to the presentation wall ( 3 ), characterized in that at least one rod ( 17 ) is provided which extends essentially parallel to the presentation wall ( 3 ) and can be pressed against it, between which and the presentation wall ( 3 ) the objects ( 24 ) can be clamped. 2. Notice board according to claim 1, characterized in that the rod ( 17 ) runs essentially horizontally when the notice board ( 1 ) is arranged vertically and is pressed against the presentation wall ( 3 ) by its own weight. 3. Notice board according to claim 2, characterized in that the rod ( 17 ) is mounted in guides ( 16 ) arranged laterally to the presentation wall ( 3 ), in particular in side walls ( 4 ) running perpendicularly thereto, which are inclined in the direction of the presentation wall ( 3 ). 4. Notice board according to claim 5, characterized in that the one pair of guides ( 16 ) has a distance to the horizontal edge remote therefrom which is somewhat smaller than the standard height of a sheet of paper, in particular smaller than the DIN A4 standard height, and that the other pair of guides ( 16 ) is immediately adjacent to the adjacent horizontal edge. 7. Notice board according to one of claims 4 to 6, characterized in that a plurality of guide pairs ( 16 ) are provided, which are arranged at regular intervals and with alternating directions of inclination. 8. Notice board according to one of claims 3 to 7, characterized in that the guides are designed as slots ( 16 ) through which the rod ( 17 ) can pass. 9. Noticeboard according to claim 8, characterized in that the rod ( 17 ) is provided with circumferentially extending annular grooves ( 21 ) on its outer surface for lateral guidance, with which it is mounted in the slots ( 16 ). 10. Notice board according to claim 9, characterized in that the diameter of the rod ( 17 ) is larger than the width of the slots ( 16 ) and that the slots ( 16 ) have an extension ( 19 ) in their end region remote from the presentation wall ( 3 ) which is at least slightly larger than the diameter of the rod ( 17 ) outside the annular groove ( 21 ). 11. Notice board according to claim 8, characterized in that the rod ( 17 ) has thickened portions ( 22 ) at its ends for lateral guidance. 12. Notice board according to claim 11, characterized in that the diameter of the thickenings ( 22 ) is larger than the width of the slots ( 16 ) and that the slots ( 16 ) have an extension ( 19 ) in their end region remote from the presentation wall ( 3 ) which is at least slightly larger than the diameter of the thickenings ( 22 ). 13. Notice board according to claim 11, characterized in that the thickened portions ( 22 ) are designed to be unscrewable from the rod ( 17 ). 14. Notice board according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the rod ( 17 ) has a friction-increasing surface. 15. Notice board according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a transparent cover panel ( 12 ), in particular made of glass, is provided for covering the presentation wall ( 3 ). 16. Notice board according to claim 15, characterized in that the cover plate ( 12 ) is connected to the presentation wall ( 3 ) via swivel joints ( 8 , 10 ). 17. Notice board according to claim 16, characterized in that in each of the side walls ( 4 ) there is provided a recess ( 8 ) for a pin ( 10 ) serving as a pivot axis, which is supported by a cuboid ( 11 ) connected to the cover plate ( 12 ), in particular by gluing, and projecting laterally beyond the latter. 18. Noticeboard according to claim 17, characterized in that the recesses ( 8 ) are each provided in an outer corner region of the side walls ( 4 ) facing the presentation wall ( 3 ), and that the presentation wall ( 3 ) has recesses ( 9 ) opposite the cuboids ( 11 ) in order to enable pivoting of the cover plate ( 12 ). 19. Noticeboard according to one of claims 16 to 18, characterized in that on the side of the presentation wall ( 3 ) facing away from the pivot joints ( 8 , 10 ) there is a tab ( 6 ) extending perpendicularly to the presentation wall ( 3 ) in the direction of the cover plate ( 12 ) and on the side of the cover plate ( 12 ) facing away from the pivot joints ( 8 , 10 ) there is a further cuboid ( 13 ) connected to the cover plate, in particular by gluing, which each have a through opening ( 14 , 15 ) which are aligned with one another when the cover plate ( 12 ) is folded onto the presentation wall ( 3 ), so that a locking pin ( 23 ) can be inserted through the through openings ( 14 , 15 ). 20. Notice board according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the presentation wall ( 3 ), the side walls ( 4 ) and the tab ( 6 ) are formed integrally with one another.
