The invention relates to double beds according to the preamble of claim 1.

Double beds, where two people lie next to each other on separate mattresses, come in two designs. One design has a single bed frame, the other has two single beds next to each other. The second design has the advantage that the beds can be placed separately; the disadvantage, however, is that there is a so-called "visitor gap", that the beds can be pushed apart accidentally and that the floor can be scratched in the process. Finally, a double bed consisting of two single beds requires more material.

The present invention is based on the object of providing a double bed of the type mentioned above, which is particularly user-friendly and at the same time safe to use.

This object is achieved by a double bed having the features of claim 1.

Thanks to the inventive design, the two beds are connected to each other at the head end, which means that their position in the bedroom is and remains fixed. At the same time, the foot sections can be swung to the side individually or together, creating a V-shaped gap between the beds, so that making the beds or cleaning the floor under the beds is no problem. The unwanted formation of this V-shaped gap is safely prevented by the latch attached to the foot area.

The latch is advantageously located on the inside of one of the foot sections and connects the two inner side sections to each other in a detachable manner. This design is characterized by its particular simplicity and optimal accessibility. It goes without saying that other locking mechanisms can also be used.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the rollers are attached to stable metal frames. These metal frames connect the two bed side parts to each other and stabilize them so that a separate headboard for each single bed is not necessary.

In order to achieve a synchronous separation of the two single beds, according to a further development of the invention, the inner side parts can be movably coupled at the head end via a fitting.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the inner side parts are lower than the outer side parts. This means that when the double bed is closed, the two mattresses lie close together and the annoying "visitor gap" is eliminated.

Preferably, supports for mattress frames are provided on the outer and inner side parts, whereby according to a further development of the invention the supports on the inner side parts are positioned above the upper edge of the side parts. This serves to avoid the unsightly "visitor gap".

Advantageously, these supports are also height-adjustable, e.g. to be able to achieve different seat heights.

Preferably, the supports on the inner side parts are designed as slip-on shoes.

The invention will be explained in more detail in the form of an embodiment with reference to the drawing. Each of the drawings shows in perspective

Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of a double bed. You can see a common headboard 1, on which a bedside table 11.1, 11.2 is provided on the right and left. You can also see two single beds, each consisting of a footboard 2.1, 2.2, an outer side part 3.1, 3.2 and an inner side part 4.1, 4.2. Underneath the side parts you can see a stable chassis 5.1, 5.2 with steerable rollers. The beds rest on these rollers.

The outer side parts 3.1, 3.2 are each hinged to the head part 1 with a swivel fitting 6.1, 6.2. Details can be found in Fig. 2.

A latch 7 is attached to the inside of the foot part 2.1, with the help of which the two single beds can be locked together. Details can be found in Fig. 3.

As can be seen in Fig. 1, the inner side parts 4.1, 4.2 are significantly lower than the outer side parts 3.1, 3.2. The height difference corresponds to, for example, the thickness of a mattress. This makes it possible for the mattresses (not shown) to be placed close together when the beds are closed, so that no annoying "visitor gap" is created.

On the inside of the outer side parts 3.1, 3.2 you can see hook-shaped supports 9 for mattress frames. Supports 10 for the mattress frames are also provided on the inner side parts 4.1, 4.2. However, these inner supports 10 are positioned above the upper edge of the inner side parts 4.1, 4.2 to allow the mattresses to fit together without gaps.

Fig. 2 shows a section of Fig. 1 in the area of the pivot fitting 6.2. This is a high hinge fitting that connects the outer side part 3.2 with the head part 1.

Furthermore, the support 9 for the mattress base can be seen on the inside of the outer side part 3.2. This support 9 is height-adjustable in order to adapt to mattresses of different thicknesses and/or to different seat heights.

Fig. 3 shows a view of the inside of the foot parts 2.1, 2.2 of the double bed in Fig. 1 in the area of the latch 7. The two beds are closed, the inner side parts 4.1, 4.2 lie parallel to each other and are detachably connected to each other by the locking part 7.2 of the latch 7. A handle 7.1 is used to operate the latch 7, which can be easily reached from the foot end of the double bed.

Claims (9)

1. Double bed, essentially comprising - a headboard ( 1 ), - a foot part ( 2.1 , 2.2 ) - and outer and inner side parts ( 3.1 , 3.2 ; 4.1 , 4.2 ), characterized by the features: - the foot part ( 2.1 , 2.2 ) is separated, - each bed has its own inner side part ( 4.1 , 4.2 ), - each bed stands on a chassis ( 5.1 , 5.2 ) with steerable rollers, - the outer side parts ( 3.1 , 3.2 ) are pivotably connected to the head part ( 1 ) by a hinge ( 6.1 , 6.2 ), - a latch ( 7 ) detachably connects the two beds. 2. Double bed according to claim 1, characterized by the features: - the latch ( 7 ) - located on the inside of one of the foot parts ( 2.1 ) - and releasably connects the two inner side parts ( 4.1 , 4.2 ) with each other. 3. Double bed according to claim 1 or 2, characterized by the feature: - the rollers ( 5.1 , 5.2 ) are attached to stable metal frames. 4. Double bed according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized by the feature: - the inner side parts ( 4.1 , 4.2 ) are movably coupled at the head end via a fitting ( 8 ). 5. Double bed according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized by the feature: - the inner side parts ( 4.1 , 4.2 ) are at least one mattress thickness lower than the outer side parts ( 3.1 , 3.2 ). 6. Double bed according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterized by the feature: - supports ( 9 , 10 ) for mattress bases are provided on the outer and inner side parts ( 3.1 , 3.2 , 4.1 , 4.2 ). 7. Double bed according to claim 6, characterized by the feature: - the supports ( 10 ) on the inner side parts ( 4.1 , 4.2 ) are positioned above the upper edge of the side parts. 8. Double bed according to claim 6 or 7, characterized by the feature: - the supports ( 9 , 10 ) are height adjustable. 9.
