Skateboard

The innovation relates to a skateboard according to the generic term of claim 1. A skateboard of this type is known from WO 00/03773. The aim of the innovation is to improve the steerability of a skateboard of this type.

To solve this problem, a skateboard is designed according to claim 1.

Further developments of the innovation are the subject of the subclaims. The innovation is explained in more detail below with reference to the figures. They show:

Figure 1 shows a skateboard as known from WO 00/03773 and which essentially consists of the running board 1, the rear bearing element 2, which is attached to the rear end of the running board 1 and carries a freely rotatable rear wheel 3, and the front bearing element 4. The latter is attached to the front end of the running board 1 and serves to support the front wheel axle with the two front wheels 5. A holding or control rod 6 is also attached to the bearing element 4. The front wheel axle comprises two steering knuckle levers 7, each of which is articulated at one end to the bearing element 4 by means of a joint 8 and which are articulated to one another at their other end by a tie rod 9, so that pivoting one steering knuckle lever 7 also pivots the other steering knuckle lever 7. The joints 10, with which the tie rod 9 is connected at both ends to a steering knuckle 7, are formed by joint bolts, just like the joints 8, in such a way that their axes are parallel or essentially parallel to each other and form the corner points of a four-bar linkage. In this case, the axes of the joints 8 and 10 are inclined relative to the vertical and, in addition, in the forward direction of travel of the skateboard, the joints 8 precede the joints 10. Two compression springs 11 are arranged on the tie rod 9, each of which is supported near the joint 10 on a disk 12 which is fixedly provided on the tie rod 9, and in the middle of the tie rod on a disk 13 which is provided on the tie rod 9 so as to be axially displaceable. The two disks 13 are provided on both sides with a stop 14 which is fixedly connected to the bearing element 4. A front wheel 5 is freely rotatably mounted on each steering knuckle lever 7. The two front wheels 5 are steered solely by tilting the running board 1 about the longitudinal axis of the skateboard. The two springs 11 dampen the steering deflection and define the neutral position of the front axle.

Figure 3 shows a simplified representation of a tie rod 9a, which is used in the new design of the skateboard instead of the tie rod 9. The tie rod 9a has ball head joints 15 at both ends, each of which is fastened to the end of a steering knuckle 7 remote from the joint 8 by a joint part 15' forming the ball head 16, for example by a screw connection. The other joint part 15', which forms a socket receiving the ball head 16, is screwed with an internal thread onto a threaded end of a rod 17 forming the tie rod 9a. Two disks 18 made of plastic with molded-on sleeves are provided in the middle of the rod 17 so that they can be moved axially. The discs 18 serve, in accordance with the discs 13, as a counter bearing for one end of the springs 11 enclosing the rod 17, which rests with its other end against the section of the joint part 15" forming the joint socket. The stop 14 is again located between the two discs 18.

The use of the tie rod 10a has considerable advantages. On the one hand, the ball joints 15 provide a higher degree of freedom for pivoting the steering knuckles 7, so that in particular improved steering behavior is achieved. The screw fastening of the ball joints 15, in particular also on the rod 17, enables an adjustment of the effective length of the tie rod 9a and thus a tracking adjustment of the front axle.

Claims (5)

1. A skateboard with a footboard ( 1 ), with a front axle and a rear axle, of which the rear axle has at least one rotatably mounted wheel ( 3 ) and the front axle has two wheels ( 5 ), each of which is mounted on a steering knuckle lever ( 7 ) which is pivotably connected to a bearing ( 4 ) of the skateboard body by means of a first joint ( 8 ) and is articulated at its other end by means of a second joint ( 15 ) to a piston rod ( 9a ) connecting the two steering knuckle levers ( 7 ), characterized in that the second joints are each designed as ball head joints ( 15 ). 2. Skateboard according to claim 1, characterized in that the steering knuckle levers ( 7 ) are articulated with the first joints ( 8 ) to a bearing element ( 4 ) fastened to the front region of the footboard ( 1 ). 3. Skateboard according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that at least one spring element ( 11 ) is provided on the tie rod ( 9a ), which acts between a stop ( 14 ) provided on the skateboard and a counter stop on the tie rod ( 9a ). 4. Skateboard according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that two springs ( 11 ) are provided on the tie rod ( 9a ), which act between an outer stop, for example a stop formed by the ball joint ( 15 ), and an inner, axially displaceable stop, for example a disk ( 18 ). 5. Skateboard according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the ball joints ( 15 ) are each adjustably connected to the tie rod in the axial direction of the latter, for example by screwing onto the tie rod.
