Claims

1. Device for preparing rod-shaped smoking agents ( 1 ) with a cutting blade ( 3 ), the cutting edge ( 6 ) of which is located in the plane described by the cutting blade ( 3 ) and the cutting direction of which is also oriented in the plane of the cutting blade ( 3 ), characterized in that the device has at least one further cutting edge ( 10 ) which is arranged at the axial end ( 9 ) of a round pipe section ( 7 ) or ring or partial ring and serves as a tool for cutting out cylindrical elements, the cutting direction of the cutting edge ( 10 ) being oriented parallel to the central axis of the pipe section ( 7 ).

2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the round pipe pieces ( 7 ) for cutting out cylindrical elements are attached to the cutting blade ( 3 ).

3. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the cutting edge ( 6 ) of the cutting blade ( 3 ) has a concave shape, preferably with a local radius of curvature of about 8 mm.

4. Device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that it has three cutting edges ( 10 ) at axial ends ( 9 ) of round pipe pieces ( 7 ).

5. Device according to claim 4, characterized in that the three round cutting edges ( 10 ) each have a diameter of approximately 13 ± 2 mm, 6 ± 2 mm and 9 ± 2 mm.

6. Device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that the cutting edges ( 10 ) at the axial ends ( 9 ) of round pipe pieces ( 7 ) have only a one-sided bevel on the inner diameter.

7. Device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that the cutting edge ( 6 ) of the cutting blade ( 3 ) has a bevel ( 11 ) on one side only.

8. Device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that the cutting blade ( 3 ) is mounted in a housing ( 2 ) so as to be displaceable in the cutting direction.

9. Device according to claim 8, characterized in that the housing ( 2 ) has a small spatial extent in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the cutting blade ( 3 ) compared to the dimensions in the plane of the cutting blade ( 3 ).

Device according to claim 8 or 9, characterized in that the housing ( 2 ) has at least one continuous recess ( 5 ) oriented perpendicular to the plane of the cutting blade ( 3 ), which is continuous for a rod-shaped smoking agent ( 1 ) at a first dead center of the movement of the cutting blade ( 3 ) in the housing ( 2 ) and is closed by the cutting blade ( 3) at a second dead center of the movement of the cutting blade (3 ) in the housing ( 2 ).

Device according to one of claims 8 to 15, characterized in that the round pipe pieces ( 7 ) are attached to the section which protrudes from the housing ( 2 ) at the first dead center, wherein corresponding through holes ( 8 ) are arranged in the cutting blade ( 3 ), in which the round pipe pieces ( 7 ) are respectively inserted and the cutting edges ( 10 ) of the round pipe pieces ( 7 ) protrude vertically from the cutting blade ( 3 ).

Device according to claim 7, characterized in that the cutting edge ( 6 ) of the cutting blade ( 3 ) moves with its non-beveled side closely against the edges of the recess on the directly adjacent housing wall when moving from the first dead center to the second dead center and in this way shears off the smoking agent ( 1 ) located in the recess if necessary.
