Washbasin-urinal combination

The invention relates to a washbasin-urinal combination, the urinal of which has been developed primarily for men and is used in particular for private areas but also in public facilities, such as rest areas or public toilets in restaurants, schools, hospitals, and also in public transport, such as trains, buses or airplanes.

Men's urinals are well known for their special external shape, such that the straight line running parallel to the wall and its support is reduced in height and cross-section at a nearly right angle towards the front, and the cross-section is almost pointed or beak-shaped compared to the straight line running along the wall. This type of urinal is used as a wall-mounted installation. The state of the art of washbasins is well known and will not be discussed further here.

The disadvantage of the urinals known to date is the additional space required for such a urinal, which is a problem especially in older buildings or generally in means of transport as well as guest toilets.

Therefore, the invention sets itself the task of designing this urinal in such a way that the user can use a hand wash basin and a urinal as a combination and consequently with a single water-carrying supply and drainage line.

This object is achieved according to the invention in conjunction with the preamble of claim 1 by the characterizing features of claim 1.

The washbasin-urinal combination according to the invention has a washbasin mounted on the wall. A front of the washbasin running parallel to the rear wall takes on the width of the back of the urinal. As a result, the sides of the washbasin taper according to the width of the adjoining urinal. The urinal itself can be combined with the washbasin in a compact design to form a single combination or, if there is already a washbasin, the urinal can be placed directly in front of the washbasin so that the upper edge of the urinal is almost level with the upper edge of the front of the washbasin.

It is of secondary importance whether it is a freestanding urinal or a urinal that is attached to the wall.

The water-carrying fittings for the washbasin and urinal are operated via a single existing water inlet and outlet. It is also possible to equip the fitting on the urinal with an additional hot water inlet for hygienic reasons.

Construction or separately mounted washbasin and urinal - in a single design or with an additional siphon.

For hygienic reasons, the urinal must be closed with a lid when not in use. Another improvement to the urinal is that when the lid is closed, a flushing process is triggered instead of the water-carrying fitting.

Finally, a further embodiment of the subject matter of the invention provides for at least one shelf for cosmetic articles on the walls of the urinal that taper at the sides and towards the middle or in the column underneath, either directly embedded in the urinal and/or column or subsequently adapted. In a compact design - the washbasin with the urinal - at least one such shelf on at least one side of the washbasin proves to be advantageous.

The extremely small space requirement has proven to be an advantage of the inventive solution. This means that it is also possible to upgrade the inventive solution in old buildings without the need for complex conversions for the water inlet and outlet. The existing water pipes are retained. This means that the older washbasin only needs to be replaced using the compact version - washbasin with integrated urinal - or the existing washbasin can be upgraded by adding the urinal as a combination.

According to Figure 1, the washbasin-urinal combination according to the invention has a wall-mounted washbasin 1 as a compact design. A front side 2 of the washbasin, which runs parallel to the rear wall, takes up the width of the rear side 3 of the urinal 4. Consequently, the sides of the washbasin 1 taper according to the width of the adjoining urinal 4. The urinal 4 itself is joined directly to the washbasin 1 in a compact design to form a single combination.

The water-carrying fittings 5 for the washbasin 1 and the urinal 4 are to be operated via a single water inlet and outlet. For hygienic reasons, it is also possible to equip the fitting 5 on the urinal 4 with an additional hot water inlet.

The siphon 6 (shown in Figure 2) located below the combination of washbasin 1 and urinal 4 is also independent of whether it is in a compact design or a separately installed

washbasin 1 with the urinal 4 - in a single version.

For hygienic reasons, the urinal 4 must be closed with a lid 7 when not in use. A further improvement of the urinal 4 is that a flushing process can be triggered when the lid 7 is closed, thus saving the water-carrying fitting 5 on the urinal.

Figure 2 provides a further embodiment of the subject matter of the invention. The urinal 4 is to be placed directly in front of an existing washbasin 1 in such a way that the upper edge of the urinal 4 is almost flush with the upper edge of the front of the washbasin 1. At least one shelf 8 for cosmetic items on the walls tapering at the sides and towards the middle, particularly in the free-standing version of the urinal 4, is either embedded directly in the urinal 4 and/or in the stand base belonging to the urinal 4 or has been subsequently adapted.
It is conceivable that the existing siphon 6 of the washbasin 1 is to be replaced by a new siphon 6 with a double connection.
Or a siphon 6 installed in the urinal 4 can be connected directly to the waste water pipe.

Claims (11)

1. Wash basin-urinal combination with a single water inlet and outlet, characterized in that the urinal ( 4 ) is integrated below on a front wall ( 5 ) of the wash basin ( 1 ) or that the urinal ( 4 ) is arranged as an addition below on the front wall ( 2 ) of the wash basin ( 1 ). 2. Washbasin-urinal combination according to claim 1, characterized in that the washbasin ( 1 ) and the urinal ( 4 ) are each provided with a water-conducting fitting ( 5 ). 3. Washbasin-urinal combination according to claim 1 and 2, characterized in that the urinal ( 4 ) can be operated via a cold and/or hot water supply. 4. Washbasin-urinal combination according to claim 1, 2 and 3, characterized in that a single siphon ( 6 ) is arranged on the washbasin ( 1 ). 5. Wash basin-urinal combination according to one of the preceding claims 1 to 4, characterized in that an additional siphon ( 6 ) is to be installed on the urinal ( 4 ) in direct connection with the drain pipe. 6. Washbasin-urinal combination according to one of the preceding claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the additionally attached urinal ( 4 ) is designed as a standing urinal by means of a column. 7. Washbasin-urinal combination according to one of the preceding claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the additionally attached urinal ( 4 ) is to be mounted on the wall via a bracket. 8. Washbasin-urinal combination according to one of the preceding claims 1 to 7, characterized in that shelves ( 8 ) are embedded or attached to the side walls of the urinal ( 1 ). 9. Washbasin-urinal combination according to one of the preceding claims 1 to 8, characterized in that shelves ( 8 ) are embedded or attached to the side walls of the washbasin ( 1 ). 10. Washbasin-urinal combination according to one of the preceding claims 1 to 9, characterized in that the urinal ( 4 ) is provided with a lid ( 7 ). 11. Wash basin-urinal combination according to one of the preceding claims 1 to 10, characterized in that instead of the water-conducting fitting ( 5 ) on the urinal ( 4 ), a water inflow into the urinal ( 4 ) is ensured by closing the lid ( 7 ).
