The invention relates to a bag for a roll-up or unroll-able animal leash, in particular for a dog leash, and to a roll-up or unroll-able animal leash.

A dog leash that can be rolled up or down is known from EP 0 616 764 A1. The dog leash has a housing in which a cord forming the leash can be automatically rolled up via a spring mechanism. The housing has a handle for holding and a brake mechanism that can be operated by hand and with which the length of the cord can be controlled. However, the known dog leash must always be carried in the hand of the dog handler, which is disadvantageous when jogging, cycling or in a situation in which the dog handler needs the hand to carry other objects.

There is also a known dog leash consisting of a spiral spring that is attached to a belly belt worn by the dog handler, so that the dog handler has his hands free.

However, with this well-known dog leash, the output length cannot be controlled.

It is an object of the invention to provide a bag for a roll-up or roll-out animal leash, in particular for a dog leash, and a roll-up or roll-out animal leash of the known type, in which the dog handler has his hands free but can still control the output length if necessary.

The object is achieved by a bag for a roll-up or roll-out animal leash according to claim 1 or by a roll-up or roll-out animal leash according to claim 8. Further developments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.

Further features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the description of embodiments with reference to the figures.

As can be seen from Fig. 1 to 3, a roll-up or roll-out animal leash has a can-shaped housing body 1 in which a cord 2 or a band forming the actual leash can be automatically rolled up via a spring mechanism, i.e. when there is no pulling from a dog, the cord 2 is rolled up in the housing 1 so that only the free end of the cord exits the housing body 1 via an opening 3. A handle 4, by which the entire dog leash can be held by hand, is attached to the housing body 1. The length of the cord 2 can be controlled by hand via a braking mechanism with actuating buttons (not shown in the drawing).

The bag according to the invention consists of a bag part or bag 5 which is shaped and dimensioned such that the housing body 1 can be received therein and which, when the housing body 1 is received therein, rests against the latter in a substantially form-fitting manner.

A closure flap 6 is provided on the bag 5, which is preferably formed in one piece with a bag wall 7 and which, when the housing body 1 is inserted into the bag 5, can be guided between the housing body 1 and the handle 4 and cooperates with a closure device 9 provided on the opposite bag wall 8 to close the bag. The closure device 9 is preferably designed as a Velcro fastener 10a, 10b. One part 10a of the Velcro fastener is attached to the bag wall 8, for example sewn on, and the counterpart 10b of the Velcro fastener is attached to the side of the closure flap 6 facing the bag wall 8, for example sewn on. The dimensions are such that when the closure flap 6 is closed with the Velcro fastener, the housing body 1 is pressed firmly into the bag 5. Between the

A carrying strap 13 is attached, preferably sewn, to the bag wall 8 between the part 10a of the Velcro fastener and the bag wall 8. The carrying strap can be guided around the dog handler's stomach and can be adjusted in length and closed in a known manner using a commercially available quick-release fastener 14a, 14b. By attaching the carrying strap 13 to the bag wall 8, a reliable fixation of the bag is ensured.

The bag 5 is preferably made of fabric, leather or a plastic material or a rubber material.

Preferably, the opening 3 of the housing body 1 is located outside the bag 5.

In operation, if the dog handler does not want to carry the dog leash in his hand, the leash is inserted into the bag 5 and the closure flap 6 is passed between the housing body 1 and the handle 4 and the bag is closed using the closure device 9. In the embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 3, the belt is attached to the dog handler's body so that the closure flap 6 faces the body. This enables the animal leash to be attached particularly securely in the bag, which cannot be accidentally released from the outside. If necessary, the dog handler can quickly operate the braking device by hand, even if he is carrying the dog leash in the bag according to the invention on his body. The invention thus enables practical guidance of the dog, in which the dog handler has his hands free and can jog, for example, while at the same time having quick access to the control for the output length.

In an alternative embodiment, the closure flap 6 can also be connected in one piece to the bag wall 8 and the closure device is then located on the bag wall 7. In this case, the bag is secured with the strap in such a way that

worn so that the closure flap 6 points outwards away from the dog handler's body. This embodiment has the advantage that the closure flap 6 can be easily opened and the leash can be taken out of the bag.

In a further embodiment, the part 10a of the Velcro fastener is reinforced and forms a flap with the bag wall so that the carrying strap 13 can be slidably guided through. This allows the bag to be moved to any desired location.

In a further embodiment shown in Figures 4 and 5, the carrying strap 13 in the area of the bag has a reinforcing strap 15 with essentially the same width as the carrying strap 13, which has a length that is greater than the width of the bag 5, and which is attached to the carrying strap 13 at its first end 16 and at its second end 17, for example by sewing. The bag 5 has on its one bag wall 7, which merges integrally into the closure flap 6, two longitudinal slits (not shown in the figures) provided at a distance from one another, through which the reinforcing strap 15 is passed. The bag wall 8 also has longitudinal slits through which the strap 13 is passed so that it runs between the housing 1 and the bag wall 8. As shown in Figures 4 and 5, the bag 5 is held by the carrying strap 13 on one bag wall 8 and by the reinforcing strap 15 on the other bag wall 7. The carrying strap 13 and the reinforcing strap 15 are preferably sewn to the respective bag wall. Particularly strong fixation of the bag and thus of the dog leash, which is particularly advantageous with large and heavy housing bodies 1, with strong dogs, when jogging or when riding a mountain bike over uneven terrain. Because the belt 13 and the reinforcement belt 15 run inside the bag, the bag has a particularly attractive appearance.

In some of the known retractable dog leashes, the opening 3 through which the cord 2 is led out is provided in an area of the housing body remote from the handle 4, for example on the underside, so that the opening 3 lies within the bag 5. In a further preferred embodiment, the bag has a bag opening at the point where the opening 3 of the housing body 1 is located, which is dimensioned such that the cord 2 can be led through.

In a further embodiment of the invention, no bag is required, but the housing body 1 itself of the dog leash has a tab on one of its wall surfaces through which the strap 13 is pulled, the tab being formed either by direct molding in the housing body 1 or by attaching a plastic or fabric strip to the housing wall of the housing body 1. The strip can, for example, be riveted, glued or screwed to the housing wall. In a further embodiment, both opposite housing walls of the housing body 1 have such tabs and the carrying strap 13 is provided with a reinforcing strap 15 which is passed through one of the tabs and is connected to the carrying strap 13, as is also the case in the embodiment according to Fig. 4.

In a further embodiment of the invention, as shown in Fig. 6, an elastic element 18, for example an elastic band, is incorporated into the carrying strap 13. As shown in Fig. 6, the elastic band 18 can, for example, be attached to the carrying strap 13 at both ends in such a way that the carrying strap 13 forms a loop when the band 18 is not stretched. In the event of a sudden pull, the band is stretched as much as the loop allows. This makes it possible to absorb strong impacts.

Claims (13)

1. Bag for a roll-up or unrollable animal leash, in particular for a dog leash, wherein the animal leash ( 2 ) can be automatically rolled up in a housing ( 1 ) via a spring mechanism and in which an output length of the animal leash ( 2 ) can be controlled via a manually operated brake, with a bag part ( 5 ) receiving the housing ( 1 ) and a belt ( 13 ) connected to the bag part ( 5 ) for fastening to a carrier. 2. Bag according to claim 1, wherein the housing ( 1 ) of the animal leash ( 2 ) has a handle ( 4 ) for holding the animal leash ( 2 ) and wherein the bag has a closure flap ( 6 ) which can be passed between the handle ( 4 ) and the housing ( 1 ) and which cooperates with a closure part ( 9 ) on an outer wall ( 8 ) of the bag part ( 5 ). 3. Bag according to claim 2, wherein the closure device ( 9 ) is designed as a Velcro fastener. 4. Bag according to claim 2 or 3, wherein the carrying strap ( 13 ) is attached, preferably sewn, to the outer wall ( 8 ) of the bag part ( 5 ). 5. Bag according to one of claims 2 to 4, wherein the carrying strap ( 13 ) is guided through two longitudinal slots provided in the outer wall ( 8 ) between the housing ( 1 ) and the outer wall ( 8 ). 6. Bag according to one of claims 2 to 4, wherein the carrying strap ( 13 ) is guided between the outer wall ( 8 ) and a tab provided on the outer wall ( 8 ). 7. Bag according to one of claims 2 to 6, wherein a reinforcing belt ( 15 ) connected at its ends to the carrying strap ( 13 ) is provided on the bag wall ( 7 ) opposite the closure part ( 9 ). 8. Bag according to one of claims 1 to 7, wherein an opening for passing the animal leash ( 2 ) is provided in the bag part ( 5 ). 8. Animal leash, in particular dog leash, with a housing ( 1 ) in which the animal leash ( 2 ) can be automatically rolled up via a spring mechanism, and in which an output length of the animal leash ( 2 ) can be controlled via a manually operated brake, characterized in that a tab for passing through a carrying strap ( 13 ) for fastening the animal leash to a carrier is provided on the housing ( 1 ). 9. The animal leash of claim 8, wherein the tab is molded into the housing wall. 10. Animal leash according to claim 9, wherein the tab is formed by a strip attached to the housing, preferably made of a stable material, which is connected to the housing at its edge facing the handle and the edge opposite thereto. 11. Animal leash according to one of claims 8 to 10 or bag according to one of claims 1 to 7, wherein an elastic element ( 18 ) is incorporated into the carrying strap ( 18 ). 12. Animal leash or bag according to claim 11, wherein the elastic element ( 18 ) is designed as an elastic band which is fastened at its two ends to the carrying strap ( 13 ) in such a way that the carrying strap ( 13 ) forms a loop between the ends of the band in the unstretched state of the band.
