Frottiergewebe werden bekanntlich auf Frottierwebstühlen hergestellt, wobei aufeinanderfolgende Kettfäden unterschiedliche Spannung besitzen. Die stark gespannten Fäden bilden das Grundewerbe, während die locjaeren Fäden zur Herstellung des Frottierflors dienen. Diese Herstellung erfolgt in der Weise, daß mehrere Schüsse nacheinander ausgeführt werden und daß diese gemeinsam an den jeweiligen Warenrand angeschlagen werden; die über zwei oder mehr Schußfäden verlaufenden Stücke der lockeren Kettfäden bilden dann das Frottiergewebe auszeichnende Noppen.Terrycloth fabrics are known to be made on terry looms, successive warp threads have different tension. Vorzugsweise werden deshalb die lockeren Kettfäden und die als Schußfäden verwendeten Effektgarne in Leinwandbindung verwebt, so daß also die locker gespannten Kettfäden stets nur über einen Schußfaden lau- fen. Die beiliegenden Zeichnungen erläutern den Stand der Technik und die Neuerung. Das straff gespannte Grundgewebe bewirkt, daß die Noppen dorthin gedrückt werden, wo die Florfäden liegen und wo sie also ihre Unterstützungswirkung auszuüben haben. Das neuungsgemäße Frottiergewebe eignet sich zur Her stellung von Waschhandschuhen, Seifentüchern, Kinderlätzchen Ärmellätzchen,Handtüchern, Badetüchern, Bade-Vorlegern, Morgenrücken.
