Die Erfindung betrifft einen Strömungsdiffusor, dessen divergierende Begrenzungswand aus einem durch eine Ringdüse unter Druck eingeführten Hilfsströmungsmittel besteht und der einen stromaufwärts der Ringdüse angeordneten konvergierenden festen Wandteil aufweist. Derartige Diffusoren sind beispielsweise in der deutschen Patentschrift 1028 889 und in der britischen Patentschrift 847 500 beschrieben. Der Versuch, die Verluste dadurch herabzusetzen, daß man das den Strömungsmittelschleier bildende Hilfsströmungsmittel mit einer geringeren Geschwindigkeit einführt, kann nicht zum Erfolg führen, weil für die richtige Ausbildung des Strömungsmittelschleiers das Hilfsströmungsmittel mit einem bestimmten Druck und mit einer bestimmten Menge bzw.
