Die Erfindung betrifft ein Frischluftatemschutzgerät, das einen über das Gesicht reichenden, der Gesichtsform angepaßten, gekrümmten durchsichtigen Schirm aufweist, der an seinem oberen Rand mit schmalen, an die Luftzuführungsleitung angeschlossenen Luftaustrittsöffnungen versehen ist. Bei einem bekannten Gerät dieser Art wird die Frischluft mit einem Gebläse angesaugt. Der etwa als Viertelkugelschale ausgebildete Schirm ist an seinem hinteren, über den Kopf verlaufenden Rand mit einer Schaumgummilippe versehen und beim Tragen seitlich bis etwa in die Höhe der Nasenspitze abgedichtet. Bei schwerer Arbeit wird diese Abdichtung als störend empfunden, da sie entlang einer so großen Strecke am Kopf anliegt. Es ist bei dieser Ausführung auch nicht zu vermeiden, daß die schädlichen Stäube oder Dämpfe zum Teil bis zur Nase des Gerätträgers gelangen und eingeatmet werden.
