Description
Process for the flotation of clay and other insoluble solids containing Crude Potash Salts The majority of the usable potash salt deposits lead alongside the recoverable ones Salts more or less clayey or other insoluble minerals which the Interfere with the processing of the crude salts. In the flotation processing of crude potash salts Clay contents of over about 1% are already made by adsorption of flotation agents noticeably disturbing. A regulated and economical flotation with high selectivity and good yield is made very difficult. For the elimination of these disturbances various suggestions have been made. This is how the sludge is made before flotation separated by fine classification or pre-flotation. These procedures require a separate process stage and usually a separate processing of the sludge. These disadvantages are avoided by the method according to the invention, which Components of crude potash salts made from clay and other insoluble solids Potash crude salts directly floated.
According to US Pat. No. 2,288,497, starch is used as a sludge pusher U.S. Patent 2,364,520 methyl cellulose, cellulose xanthate or cellulose acetate is used. The quantities used are for starch with 300 to 450 g / t, for cellulose derivatives with 400 to 800 g / t crude salt specified. The German interpretation document D 16764 VI a / 1 c suggests glucomannan and the German patent specification 919 703 mannogalactan as sludge depressors before. Depending on the sludge content, 50 to 100 g / t of crude salt are used. The German Auslegeschrift 1 113 431 uses polyethylene glycol trimethyl nonyl ether (molecular weight about 650) as a mud pusher. The known pushers have the disadvantage that with these the desired selectivity and thus a good enrichment in the pre-concentrate is not achieved. A significant deterioration occurs when using this Reagents when the content of water-insoluble in the crude salt exceeds about 2%. The proposed substances also require large amounts to be used. It was now found a process which polyacrylic acids and polymethacrylic acids, their water-soluble salts and their copolymers with less than 80%, acrylamide and a minimum molecular weight of 100,000 as an effective sludge depressor in flotation used by potash crude salts. These polymers, which are characterized by their good solubility in water as well as a low degree of crosslinking are used in one of the salt flotation upstream conditioning stage in quantities of only about 5 to 50 g / t solid added as an approximately 0.5 to 1% aqueous or saline solution. Because of their nouns Properties draw these substances to the insoluble "mud minerals" completely on, making them heavily flocculated and with a small excess of flocculant be superficially charged negatively. In the subsequent salt flotation with Anionic flotation agent is then an excellent one even with small amounts Receive pre-concentrate.
Die Flotationslauge hat folgende Zusammensetzung: 70 KCl, 209 MgCI2, 77 MgSO4, 65 NaCl und 873 H2O (g/l), Dichte 1,294 g/cm3.For salt flotation with cationic flotation agents such as in the sylvine flotation with fatty amines, it was also found that the "sludge" after the pretreatment with the synthetic organic polymers according to the method of the invention then with salts of polyvalent metals, preferably chlorides and sulfates of aluminum and iron, or cationic flocculants after-treated will. Of these, polymeric compounds of N-trimethylaminoethyl methacrylate methosulfate are suitable, aminated polyvinylaryl hydrocarbons (British Patent 760,869) and polyethyleneimines. The addition of these compounds passivates the flocculated "mud minerals" with respect to the cationic collectors and causes undesired collector adsorption largely avoided. The concentrates obtained after this flotation stage are considerably higher than with known flotation processes. The procedure according to the invention is for froth flotation in known devices for salt minerals with up to about 3% clay minerals and / or up to about 30% anhydrite in use suitable for anionic or cationic flotation agents. That The method according to the invention is illustrated, for example, as follows: Example 1 Washed kieserite (MgSO4 ₧ H2O) of the grain size is used as the starting material of practically 100 under 1.5 mm used. The flotation liquor has the following composition: 70 KCl, 209 MgCl2, 77 MgSO4, 65 NaCl and 873 H2O (g / l), density 1.294 g / cm3.
