Bei den bekannten Anordnungen von Metalleinlagen für Knopflaschen an Lederstiefeln oder dergl. hat es sich als Uebelstand herausgestellt, dafs, sofern beispielsweise die Metalleinlage für sämmtliche Knopflaschen eines Lederstiefels aus einem einzigen Stück Draht besteht, welcher , von Lasche zu Lasche geführt, durch ,Umnähen des Knopfloches festgehalten wird, wie z. B. in den amerikanischen Patentschriften 380731 und 463344, die Knopflöcher nach kurzem Gebrauche ausfransen und unscheinbar werden, die ganze Anordnung der Metalleinlage aber ihren Zweck verfehlt, wenn der in Frage kommende, die Metalleinlage für die Knopflaschen bildende Draht auch nur an einer Stelle bricht, da sich die gebrochenen Theile leicht verschieben. Ferner ist bei den bekannten Anordnungen dieser Art als Uebelstand bemerkt worden, dafs die aus einem einzigen Stück Draht bestehende Metalleinlage mangels Elasticität der Formentfaltung des Stiefels nach Mafsgabe der anatomischen Form des Fufses nur hinderlich ist und drückt, da der von Lasche zu Lasche geführte Draht doch von bedeutender Stärke sein mufs, um eine gewisse Haltbarkeit zu zeigen.
