Abstract

The tool(14,16) forms a molding cavity(12) for the frame(11) and has venting gaps(28,34) formed on a venting slide(24). During an injection or foaming stage an end face of the venting slide lies flush with the adjacent surfaces of the closed tool halves. The venting slide comprises a slide body(26) and one or more functional parts(30) which move relative to the slide body. The tool(14,16) forms a molding cavity(12) for the frame(11) and has venting gaps(28,34) formed on a venting slide(24). During an injection or foaming stage an end face of the venting slide lies flush with the adjacent surfaces of the closed tool halves. The venting slide comprises a slide body(26) and one or more functional parts(30) which move relative to the slide body and form a boundary for the cavity venting gap(34). Functional parts(30) are swiveling flaps connected to the slide body(26) by a joint(32) and preloaded by a spring in an opening direction. A drive system operates each flap. Venting gaps(28,34) comprises slits parallel to the joint axis of the functional part. In the closed position of the flap a seal(36) on the end face of the flap aligns with a seal on the associated tool half(14). A sensor allows the position of the flap to be determined relative to the slide body.
