Description
DEUTSCHESGERMAN
In the continuous casting of metals, as is well known, a distinction is made between two main groups of processes, namely the so-called continuous and the semi-continuous process. The latter also becomes multiple referred to as the deflection process. With both methods it is necessary to start casting the To close the mold at its lower end to form a strand foot, which is then preferably is guided out of the mold by continuously acting pulling devices. With continuous So far, so-called drive-in bolts or pieces have been used for this purpose, which fit in shape and cross-section in the mold and whose length is dimensioned so that they are of the can be detected under or behind the molds arranged transport rollers. At her upper At the end, the drive-in bolts carry devices or means with which a firm connection to the cast Material is to be produced. Due to the mostly large construction heights, it works vertically Continuous casting plants and the often large cross-section of the strands to be cast have these drive-in bolts not only great weight, but also considerable length, and their introduction into the plant requires time and a significant amount of work, especially when it is composed of several parts must be in order to enable introduction and discharge. It has already been suggested been to reduce the weight by only the head end of the driving bolt The shape and cross-section of the mold were, while the remaining part was smaller in cross-section, e.g. B. in shape a round bar was formed without eliminating the difficulties because still a considerable length remained to be retracted and extended, which can also be carried out with great accuracy got to. Since the Einfahrbolzen. Is required after each extension of the finished cast strand and reinserted their use is an ongoing significant burden.
When semi-continuous borrowed, so-called lowering method the plug for the mold, if one is arranged, is usually from one table-like device carried, on which the strand produced rests and according to the progress of casting is lowered. This procedure is generally done by reaching the lowest possible Position of the lowering device and / or limited to the amount of metal that can be poured. It does, however among other things, the advantage that long, unwieldy entry pieces are not required because the A table-top-like device may itself be able to form the mold closure also takes over the discharge of the strand formed.

The invention is a device for Continuous casting of metals, combining the advantages of continuous casting with those of the lowering process. allowed. The stopper that closes the mold in a known manner , will be solvable by an aas eem strand lowering process supported device known per se, which is designed to be pivotable according to the invention. The drive and guide means of the support device are parallel to the strand axis, but outside this, z. B. in the form of the known screw spindles, and their movement is controlled by a causes its own drive unit. But it can also be coupled with that of the transport rollers and finally, also controlled by the transport rollers alone will. After reaching a certain exit length of the strand, for example about then if the. If the strand is gripped by the transport rollers, the stopper is fastened by the supporting device solved manually or by means of special devices and the support device automatically or swiveled out by hand. Practically at the same time the coupling of the transport rollers is possibly carried out solved with the drive means of the support device.
