Abstract
The invention relates to a process for the aftertreatment of VC homo- and copolymer dispersions prepared by emulsion or microsuspension polymerization. The aim is to generally improve the post-treatment of the polymers prepared by the known methods of emulsion and microsuspension, so that the production of powders for Plastisolverarbeitung with improved quality properties is possible. This is achieved according to the invention by the fact that the latex after polymerization is supplied to an electric field characterized by the conditions E 600 to 1000 N / As and dI / dA 1 to 10 mA / cm 2 and lingers for 1 to 60 minutes under these conditions , wherein less than 35% of the solid is deposited on the electrode, discarded or treated separately and the treated dispersion is worked up in the usual way.

Nach der Behandlung wird der Latex ohne weitere Aufkonzentrierung einer Sprühtrocknung unterworfen, folgende Parameter werden erreicht: ' Residue deposited on the electrode and at the end of the exposure time with the electrode removed from the bath, rejected by the electrode and discarded. After the treatment, the latex is subjected to spray drying without further concentration, the following parameters are achieved:

Die erhaltene Dispersion wird durch mechanische Einwirkung geflockt und durch Preßfiltration mit anschließender Trocknung entwässertAccording to the principle of the microsuspension process, a dispersion is prepared which contains particles in the range from 0.1 μm to 3 μm by logarithmic distribution with a maximum at 1.1 μm and stabilized with 0.9%, based on solid, of alkyl sulfonate , The solids content is 35%. After completion of the polymerization, electrodes are introduced into the dispersion and 1% of the solid is removed over a period of 10 minutes under the conditions of degrees E = 600 to 1000 N / As, dl / dA = 1 to 10 mA / cm 2 . The electrodes are removed from the dispersion with the precipitated solid and cleaned outside the container. The resulting dispersion is flocculated by mechanical action and dewatered by press filtration followed by drying

Eine Dispersion, die 120g/l PVC einer Teilchengröße von 0,1 bis 2/K.m aufweist, wird durch ein Elektrodenpaar geleitet, wobeiA dispersion comprising 120 g / l of PVC having a particle size of 0.1 to 2 / K.mu. is passed through a pair of electrodes, wherein
As, dl / dA = 1 to 10mA / cm 2 . In the interval of each JOmin, the latex current is switched over to a pair of electrodes arranged in parallel, and the released pair of electrodes is regenerated by rinsing.
The dispersion thus treated is subsequently freed from the solid by electrophoretic deposition and the solid is finally dewatered using a centrifugal stoma dryer.
