Pro oblékání a navlékáni ponožek a punčoch, zejména ze silnějších úpletů, osobami s omezenou pohyblivostí a schopností předklonu, se používají různé kompenzační pomůcky. Tyto kompenzační pomůcky mají jeden společný rys - skládají se z tělesa pro uchycení punčochy, které má nejčastěji kruhový nebo půlkruhový tvar, na něž se ponožka nebo punčocha navléká a přichytí a při navlékání na nohu se chodidlo nasouvá do ponožky uchycené k pomůcce a poté se ponožka z kompenzační pomůcky uvolní. Kompenzační pomůcka podle tohoto technického řešení je tvořena tělesem z plochého materiálu, který je tvarován do formy korýtka, nej výhodněji s profilem půloblouku, případně jiného vhodného průřezu se zaoblenými ohyby. Korýtko je na jednom konci ukončené kolmo k podélné ose, opačný konec může být vzhledem k ose ukončen šikmo. Dno korýtka tělesa je u šikmého konce opatřeno podélným otvorem pro vložení paty. Korýtko může být popřípadě pomocí kloubu výkyvné uchyceno k podstavci, jehož spodní strana je opatřena protikluzným povrchem.
