Abstract

Un método para proteger una fruta, una hortaliza o una planta ornamental contra la descomposición microbiana post-cosecha mediante la aplicación a las mismas de una mezcla compuesta de una fuente de ácido sórbico seleccionada del grupo de ácido sórbico, una sal alcalina metálica del ácido sórbico y sus combinaciones, y una fuente de ácido fosfórico seleccionado del grupo del ácido fosfórico, una sal alcalina metálica de ácido fosfórico y sus combinaciones. El método de la reivindicación 1 en el cual dicha mezcla comprende una solución acuosa en la cual dicha fuente de ácido sórbico está presente en un rango de entre aproximadamente 0,1 % y aproximadamente el 10% W/W, y en el cual dicha fuente de ácido fosfórico está presente en un rango de entre aproximadamente 0,1 % y aproximadamente el 10% W/W. El método de la reivindicación 2 en el cual dicha fuente de ácido sórbico está presente en un rango de entre aproximadamente un 1% y aproximadamente el 3% W/W, y en el cual dicha fuente de ácido fosfórico está presente en un rango de entre aproximadamente un 1% y aproximadamente un 3% W/W. El método de la reivindicación 2 comprende el paso adicional de sumergir al menos parcialmente dicha fruta, hortaliza o planta ornamental en dicha solución por un intervalo de tiempo de entre unos 5 segundos y unos 60 minutos. El método de la reivindicación 3 que comprende el paso adicional de al menos parcialmente dicha fruta, vegetal o planta ornamental en dicha solución por un intervalo de tiempo de entre unos 5 segundos y unos 60 minutos. El método de la reivindicación 2 comprende el paso adicional de sumergir al menos parcialmente dicha fruta, vegetal o planta ornamental en dicha solución por un intervalo de tiempo comprendido entre aproximadamente 1 minuto y unos 3 minutos.
