Abstract

Una composición de dentífrico desensibilizante de doscomponentes, en la cual los componentes están separados uno del otro pero no obstante pueden ser dispensados desde un solo medio de envase, la composición estando compuesta por un primer componente de dentífrico que contiene una sal de potasio desensibilizante y un segundo componente de dentífrico que contiene un agente desensibilizante de sal estañosa, en donde por lo menos un componente tiene incorporado en el mismo el producto de reacción de la oxietilación de aceite de ricino hidrogenado, de modo que el usuario de la composición experimente menos astringencia.Un método para tratar la hipersensibilidad de la dentina mientras que se limita la astringencia durante el uso, que comprende preparar un primer componente de dentífrico que contiene una sal de potasio desensibilizante y un segundo componente de dentífrico que contiene una sal estañosa, incorporar en por lo menos un componente de dentífrico un compuesto que es el producto de reacción de la oxietilación de aceite de ricino hidrogenado, mantener los componentes de dentífrico primero y segundo separados uno del otro hasta que sean dispensados para su aplicación a los dientes que requieren alivio de la hipersensibilidad de la dentina y entonces combinar los componentes de dentífrico separados y aplicar los componentes combinados a los dientes.
