植绒面料是近几年出现的一种新型面料，广泛运用于装饰服装鞋业宾馆等，可用做沙发布、装饰布、窗帘、服装等。一般的植绒面料是用经纬距较大的白色网布为基布，基布上涂有粘合剂，根据植绒面料的图案通过分步层叠静电吸附有一种或多种颜色的绒毛，并与粘合剂粘结，经后处理后成带图案的植绒面料。由于所用的基布网格较大，基布的网孔中和表面需要涂有许多粘合剂，所组成的植绒面料就很僵硬，手感差。
