Abstract

The invention provides an apparatus or container for a compact disc having a central support portion for holding the disc through a central aperture. The central support portion has a plurality of inwardly directed radial arms which are recessed toward the inner end thereof. Each arm includes a raised middle portion that includes ribs, lips or the like to engage the disc. In addition, the bearing member supports the lower surface of the disk around the central aperture on the non-data loading portion of the disk adjacent to the aperture. The disk is firmly held between these two contact points.
