背景技术
诸如香烟和雪茄的吸烟制品在使用期间燃烧烟草来形成烟草烟雾。已做出尝试通过形成在不形成烟草烟雾的情况下释放化合物的产品来提供这些吸烟制品的替代形式。这样的产品的示例为所谓的热不燃产品,其通过加热而不是燃烧烟草来释放化合物。

具体实施方式
如本文所用,术语“可抽吸材料”包括在加热时提供挥发组分的任何材料并且包括任何含烟草的材料,并且可例如包括烟草、烟草衍生物、膨胀烟草、再造烟草或烟草替代物中的一种或多种。
用于加热可抽吸材料的设备1包括能量源2、加热器3和加热室4。能量源2可包括诸如锂离子电池、镍电池、碱性电池和/或类似物的电池,并且电联接到加热器3以在需要时供应电能至加热器3。加热室4构造成接纳可抽吸材料5,以使得可抽吸材料5可在加热室4中被加热。例如,加热室4可位于加热器3附近,以使得来自加热器3的热能加热其中的可抽吸材料5,以便在不点燃可抽吸材料5的情况下使可抽吸材料5中的芳香化合物和尼古丁挥发。提供了嘴件6,设备1的使用者可通过嘴件6在设备1的使用期间吸入挥发的化合物。可抽吸材料5可包括烟草共混物。

如图1所示,加热器3可包括多个单独的加热区域10。加热区域10可以是可彼此独立地操作的,以使得不同的区域10可在不同时间启动以加热可抽吸材料5。加热区域10可在加热器3中布置成任何几何布置。然而,在图1所示示例中,加热区域10几何地布置在加热器3中,以使得加热区域10中的不同者布置用于主要地和独立地加热可抽吸材料5的不同区域。
例如,参看图1和图2,加热器3可包括多个在基本上细长的布置中轴向对齐的加热区域10。区域10可各自包括加热器3的单独元件。加热区域10可以例如全部沿加热器3的纵向轴线彼此对齐,从而沿加热器3的长度提供多个独立的加热区。

可抽吸材料5的受热部段可包括可抽吸材料5的纵向部段,其与纵向加热区域10保持平行并且紧邻。因此,如此前所解释的,可抽吸材料5可在独立部段中被加热。
如下文将进一步描述的,加热区域10可各自独立地且选择性地启动。

代替响应于各次抽吸而启动每个加热区域10,加热区域10可备选地响应于在嘴件6处的单次初始抽吸而一个接一个顺序地加热。例如,加热区域10可在对于特定的可抽吸材料筒11来说预期的吸入期内以规则的预定间隔启动。吸入期可以例如在大约一分钟和大约四分钟之间。因此,图5中所示的至少第五步骤S5和第九步骤S9是任选的。每个加热区域10可被启动预定的时期,该预定的时期对应于对应的可独立地加热的可抽吸材料部段5预期被加热的单次或多次抽吸的持续时间。一旦所有加热区域10都已为特定的筒11启动,控制器12可构造成向使用者指示筒11应被更换。控制器12可以例如启动在外壳7的外表面处的指示灯。
应当理解,依次启动各个加热区域10而不是启动整个加热器3意味着加热可抽吸材料5所需的能量与当加热器3在筒11的整个吸入期内被完全启动时所需要的相比减少。因此,也减少了能量源2的最大所需功率输出。这意味着可以将更小且更轻的能量源2安装在设备1中。
控制器12可构造成在两次抽吸之间停用加热器3或者减小供应至加热器3的功率。这节约了能量并且延长能量源2的寿命。例如,在设备1由使用者或响应于某些其它刺激因素(例如,检测到使用者将其嘴抵靠嘴件6放置)而被开启时,控制器12可构造成致使加热器3或下一个加热区域10被用来加热可抽吸材料5、部分地启动以使得它加热以准备使可抽吸材料5的组分挥发。部分启动不将可抽吸材料5加热至足以使尼古丁挥发的温度。合适的温度可以是大约100℃。响应于由抽吸传感器13对抽吸的检测,控制器12可接着致使加热器3或所关注的加热区域10进一步加热可抽吸材料5,以便使尼古丁和其它芳香化合物迅速地挥发,以由使用者吸入。如果可抽吸材料5包括烟草,则用于使尼古丁和其它芳香化合物挥发的合适温度可以在150℃和250℃之间。因此,示例性的完全启动温度为250℃。超级电容器可以任选地用来提供用于将可抽吸材料5加热至挥发温度的峰值电流。合适的加热图型的示例在图7中示出,其中,峰可相应地表示不同加热区域10的完全启动。可以看出,可抽吸材料5被保持在挥发温度达大约抽吸的时期,该时期在本示例中为两秒。
下面描述加热器3的三种示例性的操作模式。
在第一操作模式下,在特定加热区域10的完全启动期间,加热器的所有其它加热区域10都被停用。因此,当新的加热区域10被启动时,前一加热区域被停用。功率仅被供应至启动的区域10。
备选地,在第二操作模式下,在特定加热区域10的完全启动期间,其它加热区域10中的一个或多个可被部分地启动。一个或多个其它加热区域10的部分启动可包括将(多个)其它加热区域10加热至足以基本上防止从加热室4中的可抽吸材料5挥发的诸如尼古丁的组分冷凝的温度。部分地启动的加热区域10的温度小于完全地启动的加热区域10的温度。位于部分地启动的区域10附近的可抽吸材料10不被加热至足以使可抽吸材料5的组分挥发的温度。
备选地,在第三操作模式下,一旦特定加热区域10已启动,该区域就保持完全启动,直到加热器3被关闭。因此,供应至加热器3的功率在从筒11吸入期间随着更多的加热区域10被启动而递增地增加。与此前描述的第二模式一样,加热区域10的持续启动基本上防止从加热室4中的可抽吸材料5挥发的诸如尼古丁的组分的冷凝。
设备1可包括隔热罩3a,其位于加热器3和加热室4/可抽吸材料5之间。隔热罩3a构造成基本上防止热能流过隔热罩3a并且因此可用来选择性地防止可抽吸材料5被加热,甚至在加热器3被启动并且发出热能时。参看图14,隔热罩3a可以例如包括围绕加热器3同轴地定位的热反射材料的圆柱形层。备选地,如果加热器3位于加热室4和可抽吸材料5周围,如此前参照图1所述,那么隔热罩3a可包括围绕加热室4同轴地且在加热器3内部同轴地定位的热反射材料的圆柱形层。隔热罩3a可附加地或备选地包括构造成将加热器3与可抽吸材料5绝缘的热绝缘层。
隔热罩3a包括基本上透热的窗口3b,其允许热能传播通过窗口3b并且进入加热室4和可抽吸材料5中。因此,与窗口3b对齐的可抽吸材料5的部段被加热,而可抽吸材料5的其余部分不被加热。隔热罩3a和窗口3b可以是相对于可抽吸材料5可旋转的或以其它方式可移动的,以使得可抽吸材料5的不同部段可通过使隔热罩3a和窗口3b旋转或移动而被选择性地和单独地加热。该效应类似于如上所述通过选择性地和单独地启动加热区域10而提供的效应。例如,隔热罩3a和窗口3b可响应于来自抽吸检测器13的信号而被递增地旋转或以其它方式移动。附加地或备选地,隔热罩3a和窗口3b可响应于预定加热期已经过而被递增地旋转或以其它方式移动。隔热罩3a和窗口3b的移动或旋转可由来自控制器12的电信号控制。隔热罩3a/窗口3b和可抽吸材料5的相对旋转或其它移动可在控制器12的控制下由步进马达3c驱动。这在图14中示出。备选地,隔热罩3a和窗口3b可使用诸如在外壳7上的致动器的使用者控制器手动地旋转。隔热罩3a不必是圆柱形的,并且可以任选地包括一个或多个适当地定位的纵向延伸的元件和/或板。
应当理解,可通过使可抽吸材料5相对于加热器3、隔热罩3a和窗口3b旋转或移动而获得类似的结果。例如,加热室4可以是可围绕加热器3旋转的。如果是这种情况,关于隔热罩3a的移动的以上描述也可应用于加热室4相对于隔热罩3a的移动。
隔热罩3a可包括在加热器3的纵向表面上的涂层。在这种情况下,加热器的表面的区域保持未涂布以形成透热窗口3b。加热器3可被旋转或以其它方式移动,例如在控制器12或使用者控制器的控制下,以致使可抽吸材料5的不同部段被加热。备选地,隔热罩3a和窗口3b可包括单独的隔热罩3a,其在控制器12或其它使用者控制器的控制下相对于加热器3和可抽吸材料5两者可旋转或以其它方式可移动。
设备1可包括空气入口14,其允许外部空气在抽吸期间被抽入外壳7中并通过受热的可抽吸材料5。空气入口14可包括外壳7中的孔口14,并且可以位于可抽吸材料5和加热室4上游朝向外壳7的第一端部8。这在图1中示出。图6示出了另一个示例。通过入口14抽入的空气行进通过受热的可抽吸材料5并且在于嘴件6处由使用者吸入之气其中富含可抽吸材料蒸气,例如芳香蒸气。任选地,如图6所示,设备1可包括热交换器15,其构造成在空气进入可抽吸材料5之前使空气变暖和/或在空气通过嘴件6被抽出之前冷却空气。例如,热交换器15可构造成使用从进入嘴件6的空气提取的热在新空气进入可抽吸材料5之前使新空气变暖。
设备1可包括可抽吸材料压缩机16,其构造成致使可抽吸材料5在压缩机16启动时压缩。设备1也可包括可抽吸材料膨胀器17,其构造成致使可抽吸材料5在膨胀器17启动时膨胀。压缩机16和膨胀器17在实践中可实现为相同单元,如下文将解释的。可抽吸材料压缩机16和膨胀器17可任选地在控制器12的控制下操作。在这种情况下,控制器12构造成将诸如电信号的信号发送至压缩机16或膨胀器17,其致使压缩机16或膨胀器17分别压缩可抽吸材料5或使可抽吸材料5膨胀。备选地,压缩机16和膨胀器17可由设备1的使用者根据需要使用在外壳7上的手动控制器致动以压缩可抽吸材料5或使可抽吸材料5膨胀。
压缩机16主要地构造成在加热期间压缩可抽吸材料5,从而增加其密度。可抽吸材料的压缩增加可抽吸材料5的主体的热导率,并且因此提供更迅速的加热以及尼古丁和其它芳香化合物的随之发生的迅速挥发。这是优选的,因为它允许尼古丁和芳香烃响应于抽吸的检测而被使用者吸入,而没有显著的延迟。因此,控制器12可响应于抽吸的检测而启动压缩机16以压缩可抽吸材料5达预定的加热期,例如一秒。压缩机16可构造成在预定的加热期之后例如在控制器12的控制下减少其对可抽吸材料5的压缩。备选地,压缩可响应于可抽吸材料5达到预定的阈值温度而减少或自动结束。合适的阈值温度可以在大约150℃至250℃的范围内,并且可以是使用者可选择的。温度传感器可用来检测可抽吸材料5的温度。
膨胀器17主要地构造成在抽吸期间使可抽吸材料5膨胀,从而减小其密度。当可抽吸材料5已膨胀时,可抽吸材料5在加热室4中的布置变得更松散,并且这有助于气体流(例如,来自入口14的空气)通过可抽吸材料5。空气因此更能够将挥发的尼古丁和芳香烃传送到嘴件6以吸入。控制器12可在上述压缩期之后立即启动膨胀器17以使可抽吸材料5膨胀,以使得空气能更自由地通过可抽吸材料5抽出。膨胀器17的启动可伴有使用者可听的声音或其它指示,以指示使用者可抽吸材料5已被加热并且抽吸可开始。
参看图8和图9,压缩机16和膨胀器17可包括弹簧致动的驱动杆,其构造成当弹簧被从压缩释放时压缩加热室4中的可抽吸材料5。这在图8和图9中示意性地示出,但应当理解,可以使用其它实施。例如,压缩机16可包括厚度约等于上述管状加热室4的环,该环由弹簧或其它装置驱动到加热室4中以压缩可抽吸材料5。备选地,压缩机16可被包括为加热器3的一部分,以使得加热器3自身构造成在控制器12的控制下压缩可抽吸材料5并使其膨胀。图10中示出压缩可抽吸材料5并使其膨胀的方法。
加热器3可与此前提及的热绝缘物18一体化。例如,参看图1,热绝缘物18可包括基本上细长的中空主体,例如,绝缘物18的基本上圆柱形的管,其围绕加热室4同轴地定位并且将加热区域10一体化到其中。热绝缘物18可包括层,其中凹部设置在面向内的表面轮廓21中。加热区域10位于这些凹部中,以使得加热区域10面向加热室4中的可抽吸材料5。面向加热室4的加热区域10的表面可与在不凹陷的绝缘物18的区域中的热绝缘物18的内表面21齐平。
加热器3与热绝缘物18的一体化意味着除了向内面向可抽吸材料加热室4的侧面之外加热区域10在加热区域10的所有侧上基本上由绝缘物18围绕。这样,由加热器3发出的热在可抽吸材料5中集中并且不耗散到设备1的其它部件中或进入外壳7外部的大气环境中。
加热器3与热绝缘物18的一体化也可减小加热器3和热绝缘物18的组合的厚度。这可允许进一步减小设备1的直径,特别是外壳7的外径。备选地,由加热器3与热绝缘物18的一体化提供的厚度的减小可允许将更宽的可抽吸材料加热室4容纳在设备1中或者引入另外的部件,而丝毫不增加外壳7的总宽度。
备选地,加热器3可邻近绝缘物18而不是一体化到绝缘物中。例如,如果加热器3位于加热室4的外部,那么绝缘物18可围绕其面向内的表面21加衬到薄膜加热器3。如果加热器3位于加热室4的内部,那么绝缘物18可围绕其面向外的表面22加衬到薄膜加热器3。
任选地,在加热器3和绝缘物18之间可存在屏障。例如,在加热器3和绝缘物18之间可存在不锈钢层。屏障可包括装配在加热器3和绝缘物18之间的不锈钢管。屏障的厚度可以较小,从而不显著增加设备的尺寸。示例性厚度在大约0.1mm和1.0mm之间。
另外,在加热区域10的横向表面之间可存在热反射层。加热区域10相对于彼此的布置可以使得从加热区域10中的每一个发出的热能不显著加热相邻的加热区域10,而是主要地从加热区域10的圆周表面向内行进到加热室4和可抽吸材料5中。每个加热区域10可具有与其它区域10基本上相同的尺寸。
加热器3可使用压敏粘合剂结合或以其它方式固定在设备1中。例如,加热器3可使用压敏粘合剂粘附到上述绝缘物18或屏障。加热器3可备选地粘附到筒11或可抽吸材料加热室4的外表面。
作为使用压敏粘合剂的备选方案,加热器3可使用自熔带或通过夹具在设备1中固定位置,其中夹具将加热器3夹持在位。所有这些方法都为加热器3提供了可靠的固定,并且允许从加热器3到可抽吸材料5的有效热传递。其它类型的固定也是可以的。
如上所述设置在可抽吸材料5和外壳7的外表面19之间的热绝缘物18减少从设备1的热损失,并且因此提高可抽吸材料5被加热的效率。例如,参看图1,外壳7的壁可包括围绕加热室4的外部延伸的绝缘物18的层。绝缘物层18可包括围绕加热室4和可抽吸材料5同轴地定位的绝缘物18的基本上管状的段。这在图1中示出。应当理解,绝缘物18也可作为可抽吸材料筒11的一部分被包括,在筒11中,绝缘物18将围绕可抽吸材料5同轴地定位。
参看图11,绝缘物18可包括真空绝缘物18。例如,绝缘物18可包括由诸如金属材料的壁材料19定界的层。绝缘物18的内部区域或芯20可包括开孔的多孔材料,例如包括聚合物、气凝胶或被抽空到低压的其它合适材料。内部区域20中的压力可以在0.1至0.001mbar的范围内。绝缘物18的壁19足够结实,以经受由于芯20和壁19的外表面之间的压差而对着其施加的力,从而防止绝缘物18塌缩。壁19可以例如包括具有大约100µm的厚度的不锈钢壁19。绝缘物18的热导率可以在0.004至0.005W/mK的范围内。在大约150℃和大约250℃之间的温度范围内,绝缘物18的热传递系数可以在大约1.10W/(m2K)和大约1.40W/(m2K)之间。绝缘物18的气体电导率可忽略不计。可将反射涂层施加到壁材料19的内表面以使由传播通过绝缘物18的辐射导致的热损失最小化。该涂层可以例如包括铝红外反射涂层,其具有在大约0.3µm和1.0µm之间的厚度。内部芯区域20的抽空状态意味着绝缘物18即使在芯区域20的厚度非常小时也起作用。绝缘性质基本上不受其厚度影响。这有助于减小设备1的总体尺寸。
如图11所示,壁19可包括面向内的部段21和面向外的部段22。面向内的部段21基本上面向可抽吸材料5和加热室4。面向外的部段22基本上面向外壳7的外部。在设备1的操作期间,面向内的部段21可能由于源自加热器3的热能而较热,而面向外的部段22由于绝缘物18的影响而较冷。面向内的部段21和面向外的部段22可以例如包括基本上平行的纵向延伸的壁19,其至少与加热器3一样长。面向外的壁部段22的内表面(即,面向抽空的芯区域20的表面)可包括用于吸收芯20中的气体的涂层。合适的涂层为氧化钛薄膜。
热绝缘物18可包括诸如在US 7,374,063中描述的Insulon®成形真空热屏障(Insulon® Shaped-Vacuum Thermal Barrier)的超深(hyper-deep)真空绝缘物。这样的绝缘物18的总厚度可以是极小的。示例性厚度在大约1mm和大约1µm之间,例如大约0.1mm,但其它更大或更小的厚度也是可能的。绝缘物18的热绝缘性质基本上不受其厚度影响,并且因此可以使用薄的绝缘物18,而没有从设备1的任何显著的额外热损失。热绝缘物18的非常小的厚度可允许外壳7和设备1作为整体的尺寸减小超出此前讨论的尺寸,并且可以允许设备1的厚度(例如直径)约等于诸如香烟、雪茄和小雪茄的吸烟制品。设备1的重量也可减小,从而提供与上文讨论的尺寸减小类似的益处。
虽然此前所述热绝缘物18可包括气体吸收材料以维持或有助于芯区域20中真空的形成,但在深真空绝缘物18中不使用气体吸收材料。气体吸收材料的不存在有助于使绝缘物18的厚度保持非常低,并且因此有助于减小设备1的总体尺寸。
超深绝缘物18的几何形状允许绝缘物中的真空深于用来在制造期间从绝缘物18的芯区域20提取分子的真空。例如,绝缘物18内部的深真空可以深于在其中形成绝缘物18的真空炉室的真空。绝缘物18内部的真空可以例如为大约10-7托。参看图16,随着面向外的部段22和面向内的部段21聚合至出口25,深真空绝缘物18的芯区域20的端部可以渐缩,在绝缘物18的制造期间,芯区域20中的气体可通过出口25被抽空以形成深真空。图16示出朝面向内的部段21聚合的面向外的部段22,但备选地可以使用其中面向内的部段21聚合至面向外的部段22的相反布置。绝缘壁19的聚合端部构造成将芯区域20中的气体分子引导离开出口25,从而在芯20中形成深真空。出口25是可密封的,以便在区域20已被抽空之后维持芯区域20中的深真空。出口25可例如通过在气体已从芯20抽空之后在出口25处加热硬钎焊材料而通过在出口25处形成硬钎焊密封来密封。可以使用备选的密封技术。
为了抽空芯区域20,绝缘物18可被置于诸如真空炉室的低压的基本上抽空的环境中,以使得芯区域20中的气体分子流入绝缘物18外部的低压环境中。当芯区域20内部的压力变低时,芯区域20和尤其上述聚合部段21、22的渐缩的几何形状变得对引导剩余的气体分子经由出口25离开芯20有影响。具体地,当芯区域20中的气体压力较低时,聚合的面向内的部段21和面向外的部段22的引导效应能够有效地朝出口25导引芯20内部剩余的气体分子,并且使离开芯20的气体的概率高于从外部低压环境进入芯20的气体的概率。这样,芯20的几何形状允许芯20内部的压力降低至绝缘物18外部的环境的压力以下。
任选地,如前所述,在壁19的面向内的部段21和面向外的部段22的内表面上可存在一个或多个低辐射涂层,以便基本上防止通过辐射的热损失。
虽然绝缘物18的形状在本文中大体上描述为基本上圆柱形的或类似形状,但热绝缘物18可以是另一种形状,例如以便适应和绝缘设备1的不同构型,例如,加热室4、加热器3、外壳7或能量源2的不同形状和尺寸。例如,诸如上述Insulon®成形真空热屏障的深真空绝缘物18的尺寸和形状基本上不受其制造过程的限制。用于形成上述聚合结构的合适的材料包括陶瓷、金属、准金属和它们的组合。
参看图12中的示意图,热桥23可在绝缘物18的一个或多个边缘处将面向内的壁部段21连接到面向外的壁部段22,以便完全涵盖和包含低压芯20。热桥23可包括由与面向内的部段21和面向外的部段22相同的材料形成的壁19。合适的材料为不锈钢,如此前所讨论的。热桥23具有比绝缘芯20更大的热导率,并且因此可能将热量不期望地传导至设备1之外,并且通过这样做而降低可抽吸材料5被加热的效率。
为了减小由热桥23导致的热损失,热桥23可被延伸以增加其对从面向内的部段21到面向外的部段22的热流的阻力。这在图13中示意性地示出。例如,热桥23可遵循在壁19的面向内的部段21和壁19的面向外的部段22之间的间接路径。这可以通过在比加热器3、加热室4和可抽吸材料5的长度更长的纵向距离上设置绝缘物18而变得有利,以使得热桥23可沿着所述间接路径从面向内的部段21逐渐地延伸至面向外的部段22,从而在其中不存在加热器3、加热室4和可抽吸材料5的外壳7中的纵向位置处将芯20的厚度减小至零。
参看图15,如此前所讨论的,由绝缘物18绝缘的加热室4可包括入口和出口阀24,其在关闭时气密地可密封加热室4。阀24可因此防止空气不期望地进入和离开室4,并可防止可抽吸材料香料离开室4。入口和出口阀24可以例如设置在绝缘物18中。例如,在抽吸之间,阀24可由控制器12关闭,以使得所有挥发的物质在抽吸之间仍然包含在室4内部。在抽吸之间的挥发的物质的分压达到饱和蒸气压力,并且蒸发的物质的量因此仅取决于加热室4中的温度。这有助于确保挥发的尼古丁和芳香化合物的递送从抽吸到抽吸保持恒定。在抽吸期间,控制器12构造成打开阀24,以使得空气可流过室4以将挥发的可抽吸材料组分传送到嘴件6。膜可定位在阀24中以确保没有氧气进入室4中。阀24可被呼吸致动,以使得阀24响应于在嘴件6处的抽吸的检测而打开。阀24可响应于对抽吸结束的检测而关闭。备选地,阀24可在其打开之后经过预定的时期之后关闭。预定的时期可由控制器12来定时。任选地,可存在机械的或其它合适的打开/关闭装置,以使得阀24自动地打开和关闭。例如,由使用者抽吸嘴件6引起的气体移动可用来打开和关闭阀24。因此,控制器12的使用不是致动阀24所必需的。
由加热器3(例如,由每个加热区域10)加热的可抽吸材料5的质量可以在0.2至1.0g的范围内。可抽吸材料5被加热至的温度可以是使用者可控的,例如到在如前所述150℃至250℃的温度范围内的任何温度。设备1作为整体的质量可以在70至125g的范围内,但在并入薄膜加热器3和/或深真空绝缘物18时设备1的质量可以更低。可以使用具有1000至3000mAh的容量和3.7V的电压的电池2。加热区域10可构造成为单个筒11单独地和选择性地加热可抽吸材料5的大约10个和40个之间的部段。
应当理解,上述备选方案中的任一个可单独地或组合地使用。

Claims (30)
1.一种设备,包括薄膜加热器和控制器,所述薄膜加热器构造成加热可抽吸材料以使所述可抽吸材料的至少一种组分挥发以用于吸入,所述控制器构造成根据预定模式启动所述加热器。
2.根据权利要求1所述的设备,其中,所述薄膜加热器包括多个可独立操作的加热区域,且所述控制器构造成根据所述预定模式启动所述加热区域。
3.根据权利要求2所述的设备,还包括加热室,其中所述控制器构造成沿着或围绕所述加热室顺序地启动所述加热区域。
4.根据权利要求1至3中任一项所述的设备,其中,所述预定模式是预定空间模式。
5.根据前述任一权利要求所述的设备,包括控制器,其构造成致使所述加热器至少部分地启动,以使得其加热以准备使所述可抽吸材料的组分挥发。
