Abstract

In a wave-from shed loom having a rotary reed for beating-up the weft yarns, a device is mounted directly downstream of the beat-up edge in the direction of transport of the woven fabric, for preventing this being raised in the beat-up edge zone by the beater projections of the rotary reed. Device comprises a breast beam having guide surface for the woven fabric which slopes downwardly from the fabric beat-up edge at an angle is not 30 degrees and pref. 45-55 degrees to the plane of the weft yarns in the closed shed. Viewed from the front of the loom, the breast beam is located at the back of the woven fabric. Device replaces usual arrangement of a guide slot and deflection strip comprising three separate parts and still liable to allow defects to arise, e.g. due to dust accumulation by a single part of simple construction, virtually maintenance-free.
