Abstract

There is a vertically extending ducting entity (1) attached to floor (2) or ceiling, where the power and communications leads are brought together, and detachably fixed to it. The vertical body can be in the form of a suspended mast or a pillar, and can be assembled from a number of elements fitted together. Shelves and other supports for optical or audio communications instruments may be mounted on the sides. The ducting can be made of either metal or of plastics and may have various alternative profiles as required. The length of the assembly may be adjusted steplessly by using a telescopic form of construction.
