Abstract

7 Alpha methyl-oestrone-3-cyclopentyl ether, oestrogenic, uterotropic, fertility regulator. Title cpd. of formula is prepared by conventional methods, e.g. by etherifying 7alpha-methyl oestrone with cyclopentanol or a reactive ester deriv. of cyclopentanol. opt. in the presence of a basic catalyst. It has oestrogenic, uterotopic and blastocyte implantation inhibiting activity, and may be used as an oestrogenic agent and fertility regulator.
