Description
Sound player. The invention relates to a sound reproduction device, such as radio receivers, gramophone, speakers. In such devices, the type of housing for the Tonquali ity plays a not insignificant role. One has z. B. found that the sound reproduction is hard and uncomfortable in devices with housings made of pressed material. This unpleasant sound can also occur with cabinets made of wood. This is primarily due to the fact that the inner surfaces of the cabinet in particular strongly reflect the sound. and that there are resonance phenomena.
The present invention now aims to overcome this disadvantage by at least partially flocking at least the inner surfaces of the housing. For flocking, flakes, which are very short fibers, can be used which generally have a length of up to about 3 mm and consist of textiles or other materials that behave like textiles. In particular, flakes made of cotton, wool, natural and artificial silk, asbestos, nylon, felt and cellulose are suitable, whereby, for economic and other reasons, artificial silk is generally preferred, also because it is not flammable.
At certain points that are exposed to a particular increase in temperature, it will be advantageous to provide flocking with asbestos fibers.
The present invention also includes a method for producing a playback device according to the invention, which is characterized in that the flakes are sprayed onto the inner surfaces provided with adhesive before the adhesive dries, otherwise they no longer adhere. For spraying such flakes, flake spray guns have already been developed for other purposes and are commercially available. The choice of the most suitable adhesive depends on the material of the surface to be sprayed and on the type of flakes used.
Depending on whether it is a series production or a one-off production, it may also be appropriate to use slowly or quickly drying adhesive.
Tests have shown that a playback device according to the invention has a significantly more pleasant, softer sound than an identical device without flocking. The great advantage of the method described is, in particular, that the flocculation takes up very little time and material and is therefore relatively cheap compared to other methods that serve the same purpose.
