Abstract

La présente invention concerne un hydroxyde de zirconium ou un oxyde de zirconium comprenant, sur une base d'oxyde, jusqu'à 30 % en poids d'un dopant comprenant un ou plusieurs éléments parmi le silicium, le sulfate, le tungstène, le niobium, l'aluminium, le molybdène, le titane ou l'étain, et ayant des sites acides, la majorité des sites acides étant des sites acides de Lewis. De plus, l'invention concerne un catalyseur, un support ou un précurseur catalyseur, un liant, un liant fonctionnel, un revêtement ou un sorbant comprenant l'hydroxyde de zirconium ou l'oxyde de zirconium. L'invention concerne également un procédé de préparation d'hydroxyde de zirconium, le procédé comprenant les étapes consistant à : (a) dissoudre un sel de zirconium dans un acide aqueux, (b) ajouter un ou plusieurs agents complexants à la solution ou le sol résultant, le ou les agents complexants étant un composé organique comprenant au moins l'un des groupes fonctionnels suivants: une amine, un organosulfate, un sulfonate, un hydroxyle, un éther ou un groupe acide carboxylique, (c) chauffer la solution ou le sol formé à l'étape (b), (d) ajouter un agent de sulfatation, et (e) ajouter une base pour former un hydroxyde de zirconium, et (f) ajouter éventuellement un dopant.
