Abstract

Patente de Invenção: "FILTRO DE AREIA LENTO PARA USO COM SUPRIMENTO DE áGUA DE FLUXO INTERMITENTE E MéTODO DE USO DO MESMO". A presente invenção está relacionada a um novo filtro de areia lento intermitente e a um método para uso do filtro intermitente. Mais particularmente, a presente invenção diz respeito a um novo filtro de areia lento que permanece eficaz, mesmo quando operado de forma intermitente. E que pode ser periodicamente limpo sem perturbar a ação do filtro intermitente. Um equipamento de filtro de areia lento compreendendo: um recipiente possuindo uma porção superior e uma porção inferior; uma entrada de água na porção superior do recipiente, a entrada de água estando conectada a um suprimento de água; um material de filtro preenchendo pelo menos a porção inferior do recipiente, o material de filtro possuindo uma superfície superior abaixo da entrada de água; uma camada Schmutzdecke sobre a superfície superior do material de filtro; uma saída de água na porção inferior do recipiente abaixo da superfície superior do material de filtro; e um dispositivo de manutenção do nível de água na porção superior que mantém a água na porção superior do recipiente em um nível de manutenção acima da superficie superior do material de filtro, sendo o nível de manutenção um equilibrio entre (1) um nível de manutenção de água que é suficientemente profundo para que a água que cai proveniente da entrada de água sobre a superficie da água no recipiente não perturbe significativamente a camada de Schmutzdecke; e (2) um nível de manutenção de água que é suficientemente raso de modo a que o oxigênio do ar acima do nível de água possa se difundir através da água e alcançar a camada de Schmutzdecke, de forma a que a camada de Schmutzdecke se mantida em uma condição ativa mesmo quando não exista fluxo de água através da entrada de água.
