Abstract
"PROCESSO PARA TRANSMITIR BITS DE INFORMAçãO, RECEPTOR PARA DECODIFICAR SìMBOLOS DE INFORMAçãO DESCONHECIDOS INTERCALADOS COM SìMBOLOS DE INFORMAçãO CONHECIDOS, E, TRANSMISSOR PARA TRANSMITIR INFORMAçãO" Um transmissor codifica um número de 2N bits de dados pelo uso de N bits de dados para selecionar um de 2^ N^ níveis de uma onda cosenoidal e os outros N bits e dados para selecionar um dos 2^ N^ níveis de uma onda senoidal. A modulação atinge os níveis de onda cosenoidal em instantes desviados pela metade de um intervalo de símbolo de N-bit com respeito aos níveis de onda senoidal, e é chamado de QAM Desviada (OQAM). UM sinal OQAM recebido é amplificado, filtrado e digitalizado a uma velocidade de amostragem de, preferencialmente, apenas uma amostra por intervalo de meio-símbolo de N-bit. Sucessivos meio-símbolos de N-bit compreendem informação modulada alternativamente sobre uma onda portadora cosenoidal e senoidal. O receptor pode remover esta rotação sucessiva pela aplicação de sucessivas de-rotações de sucessivas amostras digitalizadas por iguais quantidades. As amostras de-rotacionadas são então correlacionadas com meio-símbolos sincronizados conhecidos. As correlações sincronizadas determinam um conjunto de coeficientes de canal descrevendo a dependência de cada amostra digitalizada sobre um ou mais meio-símbolos desconhecidos. As estimativas e canal computadas são, então, usadas para avaliar os valores esperados de amostra recebidos para todas as seq³ências possíveis de sucessivos meio-símbolos desconhecidos que devem ser decodificados. Amostras recebidas são, então, comparadas com todos os possíveis valores esperados e uma medida de desacordo ou de métrica de erro é computada. Esta seq³ência com a métrica de erro cumulativo mais baixa é usada para determinar a saída de símbolo decodificado. Em outros espectos da invenção, transmissores e receptores de modo dual são apresentados, os quais possibilitam diferentes tipos de modulação serem alternativamente utilizados em um mesmo aparelho.
