Abstract

"MéTODO PARA PROTEGER UM ANIMAL CONTRA UMADOENçA CRÈNICA". A presente invenção é dirigida a um métodode proteger um animal contra uma doença crónica, a doençasendo causada por um organismo infeccioso que é submetido amais de um ciclo de vida. O método compreende: a) administrar aoanimal uma vacina contendo organismos suficientes paradesenvolver uma resposta imunológica no animal; b) manter oanimal livre de agentes quimioterapêuticos eficazes contra oorganismo infeccioso por um período de tempo correspondendo aaproximadamente um ciclo de vida do organismo; e c) administrar,posteriormente, ao animal um agente quimioterapêutico eficazcontra o organismo infeccioso por um período de tempocorrespondendo a pelo menos um ciclo de vida do organismoinfeccioso.
