Abstract
"FORNO ELéTRICO COM ELETRODOS ISOLADOS E PROCESSO PARA PRODUZIR METAIS FUNDIDOS" Um forno de arco elétrico (10) possuindo um eletrodo parcialmente isolado (37) produz metal fundido (28) tal como ferro de fundição a partir de uma fonte de ferro onde pouca ou nenhuma escória (30) é produzida. O forno (10) inclui pelo menos um eletrodo isolado (37) para imergir fundo na carga de metal (26). Um revestimento isolante pode ser uma esteira fibrosa (48) enrolada em torno do eletrodo ou um revestimento de pulverização (72).
