Abstract
Patente de Invenção: <B>"VACINA PARA IMUNOCASTRAçãO REVERSìVEL DE MAMìFEROS"<D>. A presente invenção está relacionada com o campo da Engenharia e da Biotecnia e em particular com o uso de um peptídeo derivado da GnRH para a imunocastração de mamíferos. Em mamíferos, testou-se a vacinação como o hormónio liberador de gonadotropina (GnRH, em inglês), com o fim de provocar uma resposta imunológica que neutralize a atividade do dito hormónio. A presente invenção refere-se ao uso de uma variante da GnRH de mamíferos que apresenta uma mudança de um resíduo glicina por um resíduo prolina na posição 6: Glu-His-Trp-Ser-Tyr-Pro-Leu-Arg-Pro-Gly. Esta mudança mostrou induzir uma resposta imunológica superior a da GnRH natural, quando ambas estão acopladas a uma mesma proteína portadora, em experimentos realizados em porcos. Este mesmo resultado é de se esperar em qualquer outro mamífero já que este hormónio é conservado em todas as espécies.
