"COMPOSIçãO FOTOCRÈMICA E ARTIGO FOTOCRÈMICO", compreendendo novas composições de um portador e pelo menos dois compostos de naftopirano, selecionados à base de critérios específicos, que quando expostos à radiação ultravioleta solar, exibem cores neutras de cinza ou marrom contidas dentro de faixas de a^ *^ e b^ *^ de +10 a 10 no sistema de cores CIELAB. Também são descritos portadores, i. é, solventes orgânicose materiais hospedeiros poliméricos orgânicos, tais como artigos oticamente límpidos, p.e. , lentes oftálmicas ou outras transparências plásticas que contenham ou que sejam revestidas com os compostos de naftopirano.
