Abstract

"PROCESSO MELHORADO PARA FABRICAçãO DE BROMIDRATO DE CITALOPRAM". A presente invenção refere-se a um processo melhorado para preparação de 1-(4<39>-fluorfenil)-1-(3-dimetilaminopropli)-5-ftalanocarbonitrila extremamente puro e seu sal bromato (bromidrato de citalopram), que é um antidepressivo bem conhecido. Outro aspecto da invenção são isolamento de (4-Bromo-2-hidroximetil)fenil-(4-fluorofenil)-3-(dimetilaminopropil)meta nol (Bromodiol) cristalino e conversão de desmetilcitalopram que é formado durante a reação de troca com cianeto, a Citalopram por aquecimento com uma mistura de formaldeído e ácido fórmico em clorofórmio. O citalopram resultante é convencionalmente purificado usando metodologia de extração.
