Os compostos de piperazinadiona da fórmula (I), na qual cada dentre e independentemente, é uma ligação simples ou uma ligação dupla; A é H ou CH(R^ a^ R^ b^) quando <sym> é uma ligação simples ou C(R^ A^R^ b^) quando <sym> e uma ligação dupla; Z é R~ 3~0-(Ar)-B, onde B é CH(R^ c^) quando <sym> é uma ligação simples, ou C(R^ c^) quando <sym> é uma ligação dupla; Ar é heteroarila; e R~ 3~ é H, alquila, arila, heteroarila, C(O)R^ d^, C(O)OR^ d^, C(O)NR^ d^R^ e^, ou SO~ 2~R^ d^ cada dentre R~ 1~ e R~ 2~, independentemente, é H C(O)R^ d^, C(O)OR^ d^, C(O)NR^ d^R^ e^, ou SO~ 2~R^ d^; e cada dentre R^ a^, R^ b^, R^ c^, R^ d^ e R^ e^, independentemente, é H, alquila, arila, heteroarila, ciclila ou heterociclila.
