Abstract
La conception de la paroi de la chambre d'un convertisseur a une influence considérable sur l'efficacité du traitement d'une coulée de fonte dans le convertisseur d'une part, et sur la précision du réglage de la teneur en magnésium résiduel d'autre part. Afin d'agir sur cette influence de façon optimale, la longueur L de la paroi (2a) de la chambre est déterminée selon la formule L = 600 x T0,45 x A et la hauteur H selon la formule H = 0,5 L x A, A représentant un coefficient compris entre 0,5 et 1,5 en fonction de la teneur en soufre comprise entre 0,01 et 0,15 % en poids, et de l'épaisseur du revetement réfractaire (7) du récipient (1) qui est comprise entre 40 et 150 mm.
