Abstract
Nouveau depsipeptide antiobiotique cyclique appelé luzopeptine E2 et produit par fermentation d'Actinomadura luzonensis ATCC 31491 et par isolement de l'antibiotique exempt de substances produites simultanément. La luzopeptine E2 a une activité antimicrobienne et inhibe la croissance de certaines tumeurs chez les mammifères. Le milieu de fermentation est utilement additionné d'un composé choisi parmi la D,L-méthionine, la S-méthylcystéine, la S-éthyl-L-cystéine et la D,L-éthionine.New cyclic antiobiotic depsipeptide called luzopeptin E2 and produced by fermentation of Actinomadura luzonensis ATCC 31491 and by isolation of the antibiotic free of substances produced simultaneously. Luzopeptin E2 has antimicrobial activity and inhibits the growth of certain tumors in mammals. The fermentation medium is usefully added with a compound chosen from D, L-methionine, S-methylcysteine, S-ethyl-L-cysteine and D, L-ethionine.
