Abstract

A portable, self-storing, collapsible desk having a box-like storage (10) is mountable on a wall and may be positioned to various heights. A desk member (18) having a flat work surface (24) is hingedly attached at its back edge to the bottom frame (22) of the storage box (10) by hinge (20). First and second doors (28, 30) are hinged to the side edges of the desk member (18) by hinges (32, 34) and are foldable against the bottom side (26) of the desk member. When the desk is opened, the desk member (18) is in a horizontal position and the doors (28, 30) are at a vertical position. On one edge of each door (28, 30) is an extendable leg (68, 70) which extends to the floor to give the desk added stability. A collapsible dollhouse may be stored in its carrying case (140) and removably stored in the box (10). Alternatively, a vanity insert may be positioned in the storage box to convert the collapsible desk into dressing table. Special bracket mounting elements are also provided to accommodate different distances between wall studs for mounting the collapsible desk.
