Abstract
Abstract: The Nine Roller Impact Frame is a support frame for a conveyor belt system. Its integrated design allows the frame to be split and lowered down away from the conveyor belt and below the conveyor stringers to allow access for maintenance. The design incorporates overhead support brackets that allow the frame to be lowered from, using chain blocks. ww w 0o LU (N <CO a-A FQ0 coc / > I-- 0 U-)) zL < (9 -7-F 7 V)) z /~5,4 1/ I/ LU I t< w ( LU o LU I Lo 0: Li 00 ( < m U LU :(I

Description:
This frame contains an integrated design to allow the rollers to drop down, away from the conveyor belt to provide access for maintenance.
Impact rollers previously installed along conveyor systems on mine sites have many maintenance and spillage issues.
This impact roller has been designed to prevent spillage and provide quick and easy access to allow for maintenance.
This design possesses nine rollers and allows the frame to be dropped through the stringers onto resting plates using overhead chain blocks.
These resting plates have been designed to bolt to the stringers on the conveyor structure.
This design differs to previous designs as the rollers can be inserted/removed without having to lift the conveyor belt.
The space between the rollers has also been minimised to keep the belt in tension and reduce sag.
Advantages include: • Easy access for maintenance, reducing downtime • Minimising wear on hard/soft skirts (hungry boards) • Prevents spillage • Reduces sag on the conveyor belt, therefore minimising roller wear.
See drawings attached for further details.
Claims (1)
- Claim: This frame comprises of nine rollers. Its integrated design allows the rollers to be dropped down through the stringers and away from the conveyor belt onto its resting plates. The support brackets in the design make use of chain blocks to lower the rollers away from the conveyor belt. This design enables fast and efficient access to the rollers with just the removal of four pins by hand. See description for further details.
