Description

DIET ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES The following is a full description of the abovementioned invention. Recently in Australia, we have seen an expansion in the mixed alcoholic beverage market. These mixed beverages come in a variety of forms and flavours. They range from pre mixes containing vodka, gin, bourbon and scotch mixed with a variety of soft drinks. The launch of various pre-mixed drinks onto the Australian market has enabled consumers to easily purchase ready made mixes of their choice of drink in either cans or bottles and are fast becoming the most popular choice of drink for young adults. Until now, the only type of soft drink available with alcohol is of the non-diet nature and as diet drinks are an important part of the soft drink market, it seems reasonable to give consumers the choice to purchase their favourite pre-mixed drinks with the option of having a diet variety. The main object of this invention is to provide consumers the option for example of having vodka with diet lemonade rather than the full strength variety. The features that diet alcoholic beverages would contain would be obviously a spirit mixed with a diet soda. The benefits of this are extensive. Many consumers are unable, for one reason or another to consume regular soda. This may be due to the fact that they have diabetes, are on a special diet or just prefer the taste of diet soda. Pre-mixes, as they are available in the current market are not an option for this very large group of consumers. The appearance of a diet alcoholic beverage would of course contain and empahasise the word diet on its packaging. It would also need to be manufactured in such a way that it is consumable by the abovementioned groups in society and the taste of the beverage would not alter significantly from its original form. The diet alcoholic beverage would also emphasis the fact that the mix contains less sugar than mainstream nixed beverages.
