<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
Beispiel i.

<Desc / Clms Page number 1>
Vulcanization of natural and artificial rubbers.
It has been found that the sulfates of aniline and its homologues and derivatives, such as aniline sulfate, toluidine and xylidine sulfate, added to the raw rubber, regenerates or synthetic rubbers, have a vulcanization-accelerating effect, the vulcanizates showing particularly great elongation, strength and elasticity, longer heaters increase in size. The sulfates occupy a special position among the salts of amines as well as among the sulfates of organic bases insofar as they have the effect indicated, even when used in significantly smaller quantities.
Instead of the sulfates, a mixture of them can also be used. They can also be used in a mixture with amines or ammonia compounds of an aliphatic or atomic nature. In the latter case, this also has the advantage that the vulcanizate has, in addition to the greater strength and elongation caused by the sulfates, the greater suppleness and elasticity caused by the addition of the amines or ammonia compounds.
Example i.
100 parts by weight of isoprene rubber are heated to 3 atmospheres for 60 minutes with 5 parts by weight of sulfur and 1 part by weight of aniline sulfate.
Example 2. 100 parts by weight of regenerate are heated to 3 atmospheres for 30 minutes with 5 parts by weight of sulfur and 1 part by weight of aniline sulfate.
Example 3. 100 parts by weight of isoprene rubber are heated to 3 atmospheres for 30 minutes with 5 parts by weight of sulfur, 1 part by weight of toluidine sulfate and 10 parts by weight of diethylaniline.
The process proceeds in an analogous manner when the isoprene rubber or the regenerate is replaced by rubber made from erythrene or dimethylerythrene or crude rubber, or by the polymerization product of ss-y-dimethylerythrene, etc. described by Kondakow in the Journal for Practical Chemistry, Vol. 64, page 109/10, etc. or when using additives other than those mentioned in the examples.
