Filling compound for brake shoe pockets.

The subject matter of the present invention is a filling compound for brake shoe pockets which has a new, advantageous effect compared to similar filling compounds both in terms of the braking effect achieved and the service life of the brake pads. The filling compound consists of magnesite (magnesium carbonate) and a solution of magnesium chloride. A paste is formed from this, which is pressed into the pockets and hardened there. This material can be mixed with sand or other material which has a grainy texture and a surface is thereby obtained which has a greater braking effect. Cast steel is advantageously used to manufacture the new brake shoes, but cast iron can also be used if this is desired for special reasons.

By using the magnesite as the basic material for the sandy material in the pockets, a highly refractory product is achieved, which is also the same as the metal
 EMI1.1
Pressure on the metal of the wheel or brake shoe is significantly increased.
