Composición para el tratamiento de semillas de arroz que comprende: fenquinotriona o una sal de esta, como componente activo herbicida, donde la fenquinotriona o una sal de esta está dentro del rango de 0,01 a 99% en peso de la composición para el tratamiento de semillas de arroz y uno o más ingredientes de recubrimiento seleccionados del grupo formado por polvos de hierro, peróxido de calcio y compuestos de molibdeno; y método para producir semillas de arroz.
